I stayed at Downland House over August Bank Holiday and we were very impressed with it. The house is lovely and beautifully kept - the rooms are spotless. Beds were very comfortable and bedrooms nicely decorated with a balcony overlooking lovely Devon scenery. Good showers, and attention to detail even down to organic tea and coffee. Keith and Cilla are very amenable hosts and interact without being intrusive. Super breakfast with fresh produce served in a lovely conservatory. For the price charged I think this was excellent value. My only minor drawbackwould be that our room and bathroom weren't very spacious, although as we were out and about most of the time this really didn't detract from the weekend at all. Woolacombe as a whole was more touristy than I expected and we did take the opportunities to get out on foot and by car to see some less busy spots.
