“Just absolutely fabulous in every way”
Reviewed 23 May 2017 for a stay in May 2017

My husband and I stayed at the Piggery with our 11 month old daughter a couple of weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Lovely friendly hosts who were very accommodating and helpful, but left us to it with a celebratory bottle of fizz for our anniversary (very kind!) and home made apple juice! The house is absolutely gorgeous - so much attention to detail and beautiful handcrafted wooden banisters, tables, seating and GORGEOUS textile artwork. It was very clean, with comfy beds, high quality bedding etc.

The house has a lovely window seat with a view of the garden and orchard, a decent wifi connection and a woodburner! We did not even remotely miss TV! Our daughter had lots of fun crawling around the lounge area and her travel cot fitted in the 2nd bedroom. The kitchen is well equipped with lots of pots, pans, etc and the wood supplied for the burner lasted us 3 nights.

Well located just off a main road (down a c.250m lane), so easily found but nicely tucked away from everything - the perfect combination.

Would absolutely love to return here one day, would 100% recommend.

“A custom built oasis”
Reviewed 8 May 2017 for a stay in March 2017

The Piggery is an amazing little oasis custom built for a perfect escape away. We were welcomed with a smile and local apple juice, and lots of info about local activities. The space was perfect for two, with vaulted ceilings, well-equipped kitchen and lovely artwork throughout. The location definitely requires a car to make the most of your time, but great walks and pubs are within short distance. We loved our time--thanks to our lovely hosts!

“Perfect peaceful retreat surrounded by natural beauty and original creative design”
Reviewed 15 January 2017 for a stay in September 2016

The Piggery was all that we hoped it would be.An original and Individual space set in perfectly peaceful and natural surroundings. The walks out from the piggery were stunning and lead either to river or vale and surrounding countryside. Also tranquil and noise free! Although there is a small local village at Loddiswell (20 min walk) and a few miles away is Kingsbridge which has interesting shops and Galleries including the Red Propeller which we enjoyed visiting. There is a great butcher too en route.
So all amenities are nearby and of course the beautiful and celebrated and variable coastline and beaches are also a short distance by car. However depending on your preferences you may just prefer the local walks and star lit nights on Ham Farm and sometimes encounters with the resident owner's Carl and Peet.Creatives in every way.The interior of The Piggery is a joy to behold for someone of a Visual persuasion like myself(an artist)and my wife who appreciated the hand made and crafted interiors too. There is an eye for detail and practicality at the same time and Carl is particularly passionate and knowledgeable about crafting wood and it's hidden property's.Peet is an expert at Creating with Felt either wall hangings&furnishings are exquisite and completely unique and personal. As are the hat's that Peet makes and displays along with Carl's furniture in the The main farmhouse (open every Thurs, year round for visits)To top it off Carl and Peet press their own Apple Juice from their own produce which is scrumptious in season and when available.A thoroughly inspiring and rejuvenating holiday.

Really enjoyed our time in this modern cottage with all of it's interesting and quirky details.
Peet, was extremely friendly and warm and we felt very welcome. The home made, scrumptious apple juice was a lovely touch. As it was my partner's birthday, Peet kindly provided a bottle of wine which was a thoughtful touch and was very much appreciated. It was great having a log fire to keep us toasty and warm. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the garden watching the cute Spring lambs and enjoying the tranquillity. Wish we had, had more time for a walk around the area. Would definitely recommend!

“Beautiful tranquility”

Our family enjoyed the inspiring art of the accommodation combined with the tranquility of the beautiful surrounding nature. We were touring the South Hams so this was an ideal central location from which to venture.
The Piggery is really well equipped...and the barbqueon the deck was most welcomed whilst enjoying the long summer evenings.
