“Cosy base for enjoying Exmoor.”
Reviewed 4 November 2014 for a stay in October 2014

A warm and welcoming little cottage with everything I needed to relax and enjoy the local landscape. Most of the fittings and equipment was of noticeably nicer quality than other places I have stayed.
There is a field where you can walk your dogs, leading down to a lovely little river, and it is just 2 miles in the car to high moorland for longer walks. My only complaint is that, as there are several cottages here and the old farm yard has been filled with gravel, it is actually quite noisy at times with crunching feet and car wheels, but that would not be so noticeable if you were there with a family group.

I stayed at Gorse Cottage for a week and had a wonderful time. The cottage is extremely comfortable and cosy and contains everything you need and Brian and Leone are very friendly and helpful and offer good advice on what to see in the area. I found the location a good base from which to explore Exmoor. I particularly enjoyed seeing all the animals on the farm who seem to lead an idyllic life in a beautiful location. Special mention to Bramble and Weaver the two lovely lurchers who were very friendly and cuddly!
