A wonderful location and plenty to entertain three generations for a long weekend. We had 17 adults and 8 under 10 and everyone enjoyed themselves. The lodges were superb and the party barn was a brilliant facility. Bella and family were extremely helpful and the food she cooked for us was delicious. Lots of happy memories, especially the pirate races around the lake. All great fun.

Dear Tim,

We so loved hosting your party! What a delightful family you have. It was such fun and you were brilliant with your organisation. It made my life so very easy! I particularly loved the cake with you sitting on your narrow boat - a work of art! I do hope that you will all return again, and if not we would love to have you and Joanna back anytime.

All the best,

Bella

So Bella had a vision and that was to turn her sloping peaceful hill into a haven for all. And that is what you get at Longlands.
The tall grass and trees rustle in the wind are the only sounds you hear at night. Undisturbed views of the suggrounding hills and valley with the sound of a sheep or a pheasant is what you hear by day.
The tents are equipped with everything you need from a working toilet and wood fired shower system to a larder equipped with the finest condements, cuttlery, plates and cooking equipment. The beds were comfy; the cabin bed is cooky and fun, the decor was just up my street and if you like ambient candles then you have reached paradise. It is the type of glamping experience for those who like the finer things in life. Secure for both dogs and children there is ample room for all of the family or if you wish to have a first, second or third honeymoon it is perfect for couples. There are even bike racks and hose for your surfboards under the tent. My favourite place was the roomy terrace without a doubt. A bbq area sits elevated above the tent, accessed by steps which provides even lovelier views.
Bella has thought of everything! She provides an on site catering menu and shop with some yummy treats, wine and gifts so you don't have to go anywhere if you don't want to. (There were no baby items I could see but plenty of items for dogs). For us the grounds had ample facilities including an outisde games court, football field to play on and lots of books you can borrow from the shop. We even went boating on the lake! We had an hour in the hot tub (not available for uder 6's) as the sun was setting and experienced lovely see views. Coombe Martin, Dinosaur Safari and Exmoor National Park were all on our doorstep.
One tip for Mums.... there is a cool box there but you may need to bring an electric one for all your items. If you are not so physically able, check with the owner first to see how they can accomodate. Don't expect tv, parties or wifi at Longlands as there are rules, with the biggest must - to be at one with nature.
I would definitely return as it was a time to reflect and was a magical place to recharge in order to enter real life again.
I am one happy lady! :)

What a wonderful review! Thank you so much, Jeanine! We so appreciate you taking the time to share your experiences of Longlands and the local area, and are delighted you enjoyed your stay with us. Thank also for sharing your tips with future guests. Just to add one other suggestion....we have a fridge in the Larder shop that can be used for items that don't fit in the cool box.

We would love to have you back. Do let us know if you would like to book a return trip. We have plenty more adventures for you to enjoy but holiday spaces in 2019 are filling fast so let us know soon!

All the best,

Bella

Beautiful setting down in a valley about 5 miles up from Combe Martin, North Devon. We were so lucky to have lovely sunshine too which meant clear nights so did get a little chilly in the tent. We booked for the sunset in the hot tub which was amazing and saw the most perfect sunset. I do think though that this extra cost could be included in the booking price along with the hammocks which are an extra £25.

We had the most amazing time though and loved everything about it and it was our Mini Moon so we had welcome bubbles and a congratulations banner from Bella.

Once again a fantastic venue and very well organised - would thoroughly recommend. Thank you.

Room Tip: Every glamping lodge has a great view.

Thank you Allison for sharing your experience of Longlands. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us. You did have some lovely weather and I am so glad that you enjoyed a beautiful sunset for your time in the hot tub.

Next year we will be including the use of the Hammocks within our pricing. As the hot tub area with its deck, outdoor shower and changing room, has been such a huge investment and has significant ongoing costs in terms of heating and maintenance, we are not in a position to cover these from our accommodation pricing just yet. But we certainly take your suggestion on board for the future. I am so glad that you enjoyed your time in it and with us!

Do hope to see you again one day.

All the best,

Bella

Perfection is really the only word to describe Longlands. Bella, and her team, were such wonderful hosts providing delicious home cooked meals throughout the weekend for the ladies who ventured into the new world of glamping! The lodges were fantastic, Bella really has thought of everything! Everyone had a wonderful time so i'm sure many will be back with families and friends in the future. Thank you Bella.

We had a fantastic stay at Longlands and would highly recommend. We were a party of four adults and the accommodation was very comfortable. The beds were very comfy and very warm on cold nights. We had beautiful weather and so really enjoyed the deck and views! We took our two dogs who loved it too!
The food from the larder was delicious, we had fun keeping the wood burner alight, it took us a while to master, but all part of the experience.
Bella asks that cars are parked in the carpark, which is great as it means uninterrupted views, however you should note that the carpark is up the valley above the tents and it’s a very steep walk, not for the elderly or infirm!
Bella really has thought of everything and we felt so at home instantly. This was our first time camping/glamping and we are now hooked. Such a relaxing break, we will be back!

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. Delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us and that you had good weather. We would love to have you back to stay and if you want one of our easy access lodges just let us know. The lodge at the far end of the site, Lynmouth, has parking just behind it, and Lundy near the shop, has flat access and you can park a car just near the Larder shop if need be. We now include these details in our booking emails to give you this choice!

You will have to return just so that you can make the most of your fire making skills, now that you have mastered our wood burner. It does take a little getting used to, but does give a great sense of satisfaction, as you found, once you crack it. I am always available to help for as many fire making demonstrations as are needed!

If you spot a date that you would like to book for next year just let me know. As a returning guest we don't ask for a deposit until October. You can email me at glamping@longlandsdevon.co.uk or call 01271 882004.

All the best, Bella
