Absolutely idyllic setting on the River Dart in the unspoilt village of Dittisham and reached by a lovely wooden ferry. My husband and I shared a simple and delicious crab sandwich and perhaps the most delicious mussels I have ever eaten -plump, flavoursome and perfectly cooked. My daughter had the fish and chips, which was really well cooked and an enormous serving. Lovely local beer to match. Friendly service. Highly recommended.

The location of the cafe is fabulous and this is reflected by the premium prices for food served to us, which was good. Two downsides however. Bottles of Salcombe beer were seen to be kept in the chiller at 5 degrees C, which spoilt the beer served. The gents WC was poor with the plunging button missing from top of cistern of the single loo! Not what one expects to see in a cafe with 'posh' prices.

Wandering the grounds of Greenway we spotted a ferry crossing the river and decided to go and see what was on the other side. Found the Anchorstone after wandering ashore. Obviously popular, all their tables were taken but the friendly staff suggested one would soon be free if we were happy to wait.

We all chose the excellent mussel dish and our food - like all the meals coming out around us - was beautifully presented and quite delicious.

The day was overcast and showery. Otherwise it would have been nice to try the outside terrace and enjoy the view.

A great spot - great food and great service. Would definitely recommend.

Took the ferry from Dartmouth on a lovely sunny day. Had to wait for a table as restaurant full but very friendly reception. A small bar where you can have drinks whilst waiting or a pub opposite.
Beautiful food & great service, well worth the wait.
This would have been 5star but my husband had the seafood platter (the best he's had) which was priced at £21 on the menu but £24 on the final bill. We realise this does happen with seafood & it was still worthy of the £24 but customers should be made aware of this when ordering. This would not stop us from returning as it was a fab experience.
