Description: The Old Market House is a contemporary restaurant in Brixham, Devon, a picturesque seaside fishing port. Our building is listed, and years ago played host to ship builders, an indoor fish market and a tourist information centre, amongst other trades. Now we serve fantastic meals harbour-side, with professional, friendly and efficient service from 12pm till late. Fancy a bite to eat with a beautiful view? We can do that! Our ground floor plays host to our bar and over 150 outdoor seats. Take advantage of St Austell Brewery's awesome selection of Real Ale (Tribute, Proper Job and HSD to name a few) and Cornish Lager (Korev) and the sun. Upstairs is our restaurant and balcony with full table service. Enjoy food cooked from fresh with local ingredients, served with a smile!

Had lunch here twice on our trip to brixham.

Staff are very friendly and dogs are very welcome.

Love the atmosphere, stone floors and a roaring wood burner.

Food has be very good. Only had one complaint about the batter on the fish and chips, it’s a personal thing but I limy batter golden and light and it was too pale for my liking. Mentioned it to the staff and they explained its was a feature of their batter, they still insisted that they replaced the fish.

Everything else was polished off.

Highly recommend

Being local, over the years we have been here for breakfast, lunch and dinner at one time or another
Lately its really starting to deteriorate. Over priced, poorly prepared food, lack lustre service...more often than not.

Such a shame because its a great location and used to be so much better.

With so much choice in the bay, we will be giving it a miss until things have improved there.

My husband and I visited on a Sunday evening with our French mastif and we were welcomed to the restaurant on the ground floor by friendly staff. My husband had Seabass and I had a burger with a very nice bottle of Malbec to wash it down. We were both very impressed with the quality of food and service and will probably eat here again before we go home.

We have visited this place a few times and have thoroughly enjoyed the food and service here we would recommend it, the best place to eat is on the balcony over looking Brixham Harbour
