Visited twice and both times have eaten well in this better than average fish and chips eatery. Fish, and good, well cooked fish at that, is its main thing, but meat eaters are recognised as a similar species to the pescatarians who frequent the place. They do some interesting takes on the standard fish ‘n chips, and I can vouch for the crab linguine. Right next to the harbour with very boaty views if you choose a window table. Staff good and knowledgeable. And I’d go back.
The headline comment refers to the notice on the front door - which opens perfectly well - to go round to the back door.

I don’t know either.

All I need to say is do not walk past this restaurant if you enjoy fish and chips, top quality with some lovely variations ,not the cheapest in town but well worth it .

Recommended to us by taxi driver as another restaurant let us down with the booking. Lovely food, great atmosphere, nothing was too much trouble for Adrian, he made was great with my children. Thank you to the chef also for accommodating my slight changes to the listed menu

Oh my walked past every time it was packed out, decided to try it for ourselves, the best fish and chips I have ever had. The location is ideally central and surroundings are very pleasant, lovely and clean. The staff never stop and watching chef prep every meal as ordered is a sight to behold. I didn’t want a big me so hit smaller portion fabulous just enough and so tasty. Thank you for a memorable experience and fantastic meal.

A very busy service at the Seafish Cafe on Good Friday. The restaurant was full and the staff and kitchen were stretched. Despite this, the food and service were excellent. The reason I have not given this a five star is due to an issue which should have been resolved when the restaurant was designed. The noise when the restaurant is full is deafening and it is hard to converse with others without raising one's voice. Poor acoustics caused by ceramic tiled walls which do not absorb sound waves are part of the problem and with no place for the sound waves to go there is considerable reverberation. The owners should consider this issue when redecorating in the future.
