Our group of 13 - ranging in age from 2 - 70 - took part in a private "7 Day World Tour of Ireland" in November 2016.
Bottom line: we had a fantastic time and would highlly recommend Vagabond/Driftwood Tours.
The itinerary provided for daily highlights - pace was good with space to choose our own adventure within the context of each day, break off into small groups for periods, and also experience large group activities. We felt like we shared a nice blend of "touristy must sees" and local sites (our guide was a former mountaineer and made us feel as though we were on special "only a local would know" hikes/walks, etc. - the feelings were born out by the lack of other noisy tourists on the trail :)).
Our guide Tim was outstanding - very accommodating of the varied personalities and ages in our group. Tim provided a good mix of friendly/informative chatter and space for quiet thought. Tim shared a wealth of knowledge - historical, geographic, local and legend - and welcomed spirited conversation. The guide also did a great job of making itinerary suggestions while ensuring we had opportunity for input.
Our tour bus was a new model Mercedes Sprinter - it was very comfortable and clean (and re-cleaned each day).
The accommodations were a nice mix of local B&Bs and hotels - all comfortable, clean with friendly staff. Lodging each night was walking distance to local attractions (food, pubs, etc.). Hot full breakfast provided each morning.
We had a fantastic family trip and would use Vagabond again.
