Ashton House is the jewel in the crown for accomodation in County Wicklow. The hosts Catriona and Shane are absolutely fantastic, fountains of knowledge and so friendly.
The stay started with coffee and cakes in the garden as soon as we arrived after travelling from Cashel, fantastic breakfasts and super accomodation. The Avoca area is just wonderful and Ashton House has to be the place to stay. Definitely going back.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front of the hotel overlooking the lawn

The house is excellent as well as the host. The breakfast is incredible! Always done for you! the nature sorroundings are astonishing.
The only "cons" is that there's nothing but a pub at walking distance. If you want to have dinner in a restaurant, you need to take your car.

Room Tip: rooms with view to the river

Stayed here for a night in March 2016. Beautiful B&B, situated in a wonderful spot, with the Meetings of the Waters at your back, and a short 2 minute drive to the Avoca Woolen Mills. The beautiful was terrific, and the room comfortable and spacious. Shane gave us some great advice to drive the Military Road into the Wicklow Mountains, instead of the more popular tourist route, it was beautiful.

Ashton House is located in idyllic and quiet Avoca, just a 5 minutes walk from the Meeting of the Waters. The Avonmore river runs behind the house, there's a cute pony in the garden and always a lot of pheasants around. A pub and other facilities are located nearby. Catriona and Shane are the most perfect hosts and absolutely genial and helpful people. Communication prior to our arrival was quick and hassle-free. The rooms are cozy and clean. Shane gave us advice for hiking in the Wicklow Mountains and for restaurants in the area. We stayed at Ashton House during hurricane Ophelia and our hosts took wonderful care of all their guests during the storm. We totally loved the breakfast and the homemade cakes. We can recommend this place to anyone - it doesn't get any better than this.

Katrina and Shane have a fine little B&B only steps from the Meeting of the Waters. Upon arrival you are greeted with tea and pastries, before being escorted to your room. Breakfast is cooked to order, and comes with jams made by the owners' family.
