Rockfield B&B is truly a fabulous guest-house. It looks magnificent as you drive in. We were warmly greeted by its hostess, Edna Crammond, when we rang the door bell. The whole property is covered with thick luxurious carpet. You would feel guilty when you walked in with soiled shoes. All the rooms are similarly carpeted, just like the rest of the house.
The room we had is spacious, extremely clean and well furnished. It gives you a sense of luxury and comfort which is associated with quality 5-star hotel. The room has a large glass window which allows you to gaze out into the large field outside where cattle could be seen grazing in the distance.
Edna is warm, friendly and very helpful. She provided us with delicious breakfast the next morning and engaged us in conversation while we ate. She provided us with valuable information about places we intended to visit.
Due to our tight schedule, we had to leave after one-night stay. Should we return to Ireland in future for another visit, we would definitely stay in Rockfield longer!

Room tip: Ask for the room facing the field outside (with large glass window).

Spotlessly clean and excellently appointed Guesthouse. Edna is a delightful hostess, and apart from not being walking distance to the village a perfect retreat. Good choice of quality food for breakfast wonderful views and gardens.

Room tip: Lovely countryside retreat.

Edna made us feel so welcome, offering coffee and scones with strawberries as we arrived in a miserable downpour, dripping wet from walking at Glendalough. The house is beautiful, breakfast was super and is this the best view in Ireland or what? We hope to return.

Edna is a very friendly host. The house is beautiful, with a spectacular view. Rooms are spacious, quite and impeccable. The breakfast is great (bread, jam, fruit salad… everything is homemade and excellent!). We made a complete tour of Ireland and this is, from far, the best B&B in which we stayed! Should you plan to visit Avoca, this is definitively the place to stay!
