We joined our dear friends for a two night visit to beautiful Marlfield House Hotel at the weekend. We cannot say enough about our wonderful experience from arrival to our departure.
On arrival we were greeted warmly by Dawn at reception and our luggage was taken from us as we were staying on the first floor in a delightful bright room with the most comfy bed ever.. Had 2 nights great sleep.
We proceeded to the beautiful Bar and had delicious warm scones and tea.
Most welcome after a long drive.
We enjoyed a lovely few aperitif drinks before going to The Duck Restaurant.
Staff very welcoming and service excellent and food delicious full of flavour.
The next morning arrived to the conservatory for breakfast, tables beautifully set and lovely hydrangeas from the garden on every table.
Orange juice , cereal with lovely summer fruits granola and yogurt and honey followed by full Irish breakfast and omelettes, with brown bread and warm scones all at our leisure. Delightful.
Walked the gardens and grounds that had lovely surprises of colour and flowers round every corner including Mr Robot slowly moving around keeping the grass perfect! Funny !
Then came dinner in the Conservatory at eight pm. What a treat of delicious food from start to finish ( dessert my passion for chocolate) so Margaret recommend a heavenly warm chocolate pudding and vanilla ice cream.
We had such a lovely time , we will be back soon.

We had a very restful weekend at Marlfield. It is a very comfortable hotel set in gardens that have had much trouble and expense lavished on them. The staff, especially Savio and Dawn are delightful, friendly and professional. We ate memorably. My lamb on the first night was absolutely delicious.

I am blown away by the outstanding and personal treatment we received at Marlfield House for my son and daughter in law's wedding which took place on the 25th of July. We stayed for 2 nights 24th - 26th July. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, the staff, but most of all Dawn, did everything in their power to make our stay memorable, and memorable it was. From our accommodation which was in the main house to our amazing food in the Duck Restaurant the night before, breakfast both mornings and the meal served at the wedding, there was nothing we could find fault with. It was the most amazing time I have ever spent and would suggest that this is put on everybody's bucket list...... The grounds of the hotel were stunning, the surroundings inside the hotel everything was just so magical. From the moment the venue was booked I touched base with Dawn regarding some items I wanted to find out about without having to hassle the bride and groom to be, she was more than helpful. On the eve and the day before the wedding, she was on hands at all time without being any way intrusive, she just sensed when she was required to guide or serve........... To this day I will be forever grateful for her unending kindness and help through the entire process. We were so very lucky to have lovely weather but Dawn assured us that if there was any sign of change, they had it all covered indoors for us.
The dancing and merriment went on through the night without any hiccup..... Thank you to the owners, Margaret and Laura Bowe and our designated go to girl Dawn for the most amazing time.......... We will be back...............
