Four of us went here for Sunday lunch and it was the best meal we had in a very long time.
Everything about the place is class but the food makes it. I had the scallops for starter, the duck for main and creme brulee for dessert. All were sublime and so were all the groups meals.

Our group of 4 friends stayed in this amazing property for a weekend to celebrate the 65th birthdays of two of the party. Everything was wonderful. the lovely warm welcome, the food and the accommodation were all top class. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. In fact, this is one of the nicest places I have ever stayed. I look forward to visiting again in the future and highly recommend Marlfield House.

A huge thank you and well done to everyone involved in making our afternoon tea so special today …the food was absolutely delicious…..the staff were top class and very attentive, friendly and professional….and the setting was fabulous…..would definitely recommend it ….wish we could have walked through the beautiful gardens but unfortunately the Irish weather didn’t permit this ….we will certainly return

Arrived Sunday 2nd October looking forward to a lovely stay with our dog. Matt greeted us at reception. We were allocated the Stopford Room. The proprietor appeared in front of us and launched into us about the size of our dog and questioned us had we not read the dog guidelines attached in your confirmation email. We informed her we had an email and two confirmed phone conversations regarding our stay with our dog and that it was all perfectly OK. She checked the correspondence and admitted that yes we had informed re the dog. The proprietor then began to question us if we had the necessary bedding and feeding bowls for the dog in the most unpleasant and unwelcoming manner we have ever encountered. We were totally flabbergasted by her tone and attitude. After such an encounter in front of other guests we felt unwelcome and thought best to leave. We informed Matt about our decision and how appalled we were treated. Matt said he fully understood our position and suggested we have a think about it outside. Front of house manager Dawn came outside and introduced herself and apologized and said to take a moment to decide and that she would really like us to stay. Matt then came to us again and we informed him we felt very unwelcome and uncomfortable with the situation that the proprietor placed us in. Matt immediately informed us that if we left they have a seven day cancellation policy and we would have to have paid in full for our overnight stay if we left. Leaving Euro 485 with the rude and arrogant proprietor was not an option. Words have failed us to really describe our horrific experience in Marlfield House.
