We stayed in April 2016 for the Punchestown Horse Racing Festival. As late bookers we had to settle for a fairly small room with no en suite facility. However there was a sink in our room, plus kettle, etc. The bathroom was also straight across the corridor and shared with only one/two other occupants max.
Our room was fairly small but had a wardrobe, some hangers - there should have been more - and a hair dryer. The room television had ample channels and the residents lounge spacious and comfortable. Also, we had free, WiFi of excellent speed in our room.
Breakfast ought to be ordered the night before, but the hosts can be flexible with that, providing a cooked breakfast without surcharge. The food? Excellent.
Arthur and his lovely wife Olive were wonderfully helpful in so many ways. We did not have a car, so had to walk most days to the racecourse, about a mile from Dun Aonghus. The walk was perilous. Tight country roads with no safe passage for pedestrians! If staying here for any purpose I'd strongly recommend a car, although the town of Naas is only a 10 euro taxi fare away.More
