So many great things to say about our two-night stay at his hostel!
1) Kevin provided outstanding service, offering insight into the historic sites on the island, where to eat, and he followed-up daily to ensure our stay on the island was enjoyable! FYI, by renting a bike through the hostel, you can keep it overnight until 10:00am the next day for the same price.
2) The hostel is in a fantastic central location - right by the dock, bike rentals, and near the Spar grocery store.
3) There is a fully equipped kitchen to cook in.
4) Breakfast is provided every morning at 7:30am (Toast, Cereal, Juice and Tea/Coffee)
5) Despite being connected to a pub, the hostel was surprisingly quiet at night. Many people go to Joe Wattys instead.
6) Towels were provided, free of charge (Many hostels don't offer towels or they charge to rent).
7) Room and bathroom were clean (which is very important to me).

Overall, I would absolutely stay here again next time I visit!

Room Tip: Kevin will do everything possible to ensure you are happy with your room!

Bicycle hire is available at reception for just €10 per day. (Open til 5pm).
Continental breakfast is included and is available in our kitchen from 7am – 10am each morning.
Dinner can be eaten in Pier House, The Hotel, The Bar, Joe Watty's pub or Bayview Restaurant. Or, of course, you can use our kitchen to cook something yourself!
Entertainment – relax in front of the TV, read a book from our Book Exchange, play a boardgame with some other guests or borrow some of our sports equipment (footballs, fishing rods, tennis rackets, etc).
Fish and seafood are island specialities – make sure you try them if you eat in one of the restaurants! The Hotel has a particularly good seafood menu - ask us at reception for more info!
Gaelic is the official language of the islands and you will hear the locals speak it – but don’t worry, everybody speaks English too!
History - the island is home to a number of impressive ancient forts, monuments and religious sites. Ask at reception for more information!
Inis Mór is the largest of the three Aran Islands. The name literally translates as ‘big island’ and the island has a population of approximately 850 people.
‘Jenny rides’ on a traditional horse and cart are available – just speak to one of the friendly men at the pier.
Kilronan is the main village on the island and is located directly beside the pier. We are located in the same building as Joseph MacDonagh's pub, in the big green building near the beach.
Lockers are available for free at reception if you want to store your wallet, passport, computer, etc!
Music in Joe Watty’s Pub and The Bar every night – just a five minute walk from the hostel.

Pints! All the bars on the island have lovely Guinness, so don’t leave the island without trying it!
Questions – if you need anything when you are here, please just ask! We’re here to help.
Recommendations - our knowledgeable staff can help you make the most of your visit by giving you helpful tips and local insider information. Join the mayhem at the island's busiest hot-spots or avoid the crowds and relax in isolation....you decide!
Security - Inis Mór is an extremely safe place. However, just for your peace of mind, we have free security lockers, CCTV and 24 hour staff presence at all times.
Towels are free, just ask at reception.
Uranoscopy is the official name for star-watching and with so few street lights on the island, you’re in the perfect place to enjoy the view!

Wi-Fi is free in the hostel. The password is kilronanhostelwifi.
X-Rays can be taken in the Medical Centre if you fall off your horse/bike!

We were two couples and ventured over to Inis Mor for the bank holiday wkend, Initially we couldn't find any accommodation and Kilronan only had 4 beds in 2 separate rooms, They rearranged other bookings to give us our own private room, it was cozy but had an en-suite so suited perfect, The staff were great and Jill gave us plenty of info on where to go on the island. The facilities in the hostel are great, the kitchen is very big with everything you need, there is a bbq outdoors and we were lucky enough to have the weather to get to use it. And there is a decent chill out living room with lots of movies to choose from for those hung over days!

Went here on a solo trip to the Aran Islands for a weekend. The place is situated perfectly, the amenities and the hostel itself are very clean and personable, the staff is very welcoming and friendly and after getting to know everyone it was great to go out with the staff and travelers to the local pub for some live music and dancing. I highly recommend this hostel for any solo backpacker looking for a quiet place to hang out or someone looking to make a bunch of friends. I will definitely be back!

We stayed in the Hostel for one night during a trip to the West of Ireland. We checked out early the following morning to make our flight to Connemara and in the rush I left behind my denim jacket. I got in touch by email a couple of days later and they responded quickly and efficiently to let me know that unfortunately they did not find it. A couple of days later, however, it showed up and they got back in touch. I sent them my address in London and offered to pay for the postage and package of the jacket but they were adamant that they would cover the cost in full. This was above and beyond the service I would expect from a low-cost hostel. We'll definitely be back!!
