Myself, wife and two children ( from Dublin ) have just spent a lovely week-end at Bunbeg House, Gweedore, and would highly recommend it to others . We had a really friendly welcome from Jean and Andy Carr - the proprietors .The rooms were clean and spacious - with constant hot water available in the ensuite toilets / showers and the beds really comfortable. Our room had a scenic view of the harbour and nearby hills. There is a lounge area which is ideal for a nice quiet read. We enjoyed a full Irish breakfast on hot plates - exactly as we like it - and the freshly baked scones with cream and jam for afternoon tea are a must! The service provided by Jean and Andy Carr was professional and friendly. The walk around the harbour with many different types of fishing boats to the new Irish coastguard building is enjoyable .There were lots of places of interest nearby for both us and two sons - such as Glenveigh National Park and several lovely sandy beaches and the exciting rib boat ride out to sea provided by Andy is a must for teenagers ! Bunbeg house is definitely a must for a friendly, relaxful and comfortable stay in a beautiful part of Donegal.
