Recommended length of visit: 2-3 hours
Owner description: Built in 1929, The Factory occupies the buildings that once served as the Dortch Stove Works, Magic Chef and later the Jamison Bedding Company. A member of the National Register of Historic Places, The Factory is rich with history and a very careful renovation has preserved many of The Factory's original features and architectural details. Calvin bought the sprawling complex seven years ago and, after an environmental clean-up, began opening the facility in sections. Today, The Factory at Franklin has 83 tenants. Imagine that factory coming alive with concerts, dining, shopping, meetings, live theatre, art galleries, decorators' showcases, antiques and offices. Our unique facility can serve all this and more. Take a look at The Factory in its days as a bustling, working factory, then embark on a photographic tour of its renovation and transformation to the diverse and vibrant shopping and entertainment complex it is today.

It’s a shopping mall with trendy shops, some food as well as meeting halls. It really is an old factory but now it has upscale, casual charm. It’s not the kind of place you could buy a new wardrobe or furnish a house but you will find unusual, artsy items at the Factory.

Easy to find located just off the main drag In Franklin.
Reasonably priced.
Upon arrival, go in , turn to your left, go to one of the registers, choose your package, get your cards then have fun.
Lots of video games that give tickets to claim prizes. 9 hole Putt-Putt course that's pretty challenging. Go-carts with real gas engines nice track. Jumping area that the kids loved.
Cool place.
Clean, safe family atmosphere.
We will be back

Thank John P

What a cool concept. This factory has been turned into shopping, eateries and a pottery studio. This place is fun to explore. You can grab an ice cream from Jeni’s and walk around looking at artwork, a cool guitar shop and you can even go try your hand a creating pottery or you could just lounge on the comfy couches eating ice cream and or sip on some coffee. This place has a cool vibe that has the bones that takes you back in time when the factory was vibrant.

We set up here for a trade show last summer and found it to be a very nice venue. We had our granddaughter along, and she had a great time exploring the complex and buying souvenirs at some of its unique shops and boutiques.

There is also a farmers' market on the weekend that is lots of fun.

The only drawback is the lack dining options. The fast food places, coffee shops, bakeries, etc. are fine, but The Factory could also use a couple of nicer sit-down restaurants.

This was an amazing collection of shops that had so many unique items. Repurposed farm implements, repurposed doors, windows, barn wood, and other stunningly different items. Recommend!
