I've read several negative reviews about this place. Absolutely shocking! It is beautiful here! Open your eyes! The rooms are big and updated and very clean. We came in after hours and our key was exactly where they told us it would be. We brought our boat and there is plenty of parking to accommodate. The restaurant on site was absolutely fantastic! I am so glad I trusted my gut and chose this place! Heads and tails above any hotel! Fantastic pick!

This place looks like it was a couple of residential apartment blocks that they decided to re-purpose as a hotel. It's situated on the banks of the French Broad River, just over the bridge from the town of Dandridge. There's a vacation trailer park across the parking lot from the hotel, with a decent steak house between those two areas. There's also a marina with a little bar at the end of the dock.

The classic old bridge is in the process of being replaced by a more modern structure. We were there on Friday night, and didn't notice any construction noise, but it may be more of an issue during the day on weekdays.

The room was a basic hotel setup with two comfortable queen beds, a large bathroom, and a little area with a sink and microwave. It would benefit from a few pottery mugs instead of the polystyrene ones provided. There were a couple of outdoor chairs on the patio to sit at and watch the activity on the river.

Walking distance from the hotel room is a steakhouse. This gave us the novelty of going out to a restaurant and being able to have a couple of beers with our meal. No need to drive afterwards.

This resort was actually recommended by a near-by resort that was full. I was a little hesitant after reading some of the posted reviews but am glad I called and reserved a room. There are a couple of good points to note - First - it's listed as a "No Frills" resort. I'm not real sure what that means. We had in-room coffee (Keurig), soaps, lotions, linen, TV's, clock, phone, lamps, - You get the picture. The room was clean, towels were soft and the A/C worked. The view from our balcony offered a beautiful view of the sunset and in the morning, as the light touched the lake, what a great start to our day. There's a bridge in view which adds to the experience.

A second point we found to be true is you don't see the staff running around. We arrived around 8pm and the office , located left of the restaurant, was closed. There was a note on the door explaining where the room key was and a call to the number on our email confirmation put us in touch with the person who answered our questions. That must be the no frills part but it doesn't take away from a great experience at this resort.

We stayed here while in town visiting family. We decided to stay here as it sits on the lake instead of Hampton Inn where other family members were. We were not impressed with the room.

First the decor is a tad dated. One of the chairs in the den area had a hole in it. The carpet looks original to when the place was built.

The room did seem clean. Though we killed at least 2 spiders during our stay and my wife had some other insect crawling on her at one point.

Overall we were not impressed. If we are ever in town visiting family again, we will choose the Hampton Inn next time.

The room was spacious and adequate. The room did have a oder of maybe carpet cleaner that was annoying. The restaurant was adequate if you like fried foods. The big negative was the fact the office and marina were closed on Mondays !! How is it you CLOSE IN THE FIRST OF THE WEEK DURING PRIME SEASON? We had wanted to rent a boat for the day but the marina only rented pontoons. We never thought a large lake such as Douglas Lake that a marina would close on Mondays. There was a phone number to call but you got a recording and no one called back. Had we known this we would had have made arrangements on Sunday when we checked in. I did ask the clerk on Sunday if there was a near by Marina around that might rent other boats and was told no. We later found out this was not true. When we checked out at 9 on Tues , still no one in the office. As stated in a previous review,,, your on automatic pilot !! Info said wifi but there was none. It was much farther to Dollywood then thought ( thru no fault of the resort).
