Thank you to the people at Imagination Mountain for your hospitality as we evacuated Irma. Our home is in Key West and we have friends who did not evacuate. After all this intense emotional stress it was so nice to be welcomed and supported. We have stayed here many times in yurts, our trailer, and cabins; all are clean and accommodating. The site is beautiful and has a lovely creek running through it. It is kid-friendly. And best of all, it is right in the Smokys for awesome hiking!

We booked several cabins and a tent site to accommodate 9 families. The campground was very nice. It is family friendly and has a lot of activities to do all day. The bath houses were clean.
We especially loved the pavilion set up; as it gave us room for our troop to do crafts that we needed them to do for badge requirements.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
We liked the fact that everything was close together. Easier for us to reach each other.

This was our second visit to the campground and it was a great stay! We had two sites, one was an RV site and the other was a tent site, and we were very pleased with both. RV site was an easy back in site next to a creek with water and electric. The facility and the owners are amazing! We will be back!

Despite the rain the soaked our first day the trip was great. Upon arrival our reserved site was ready. However, they had an unexpected opening at a different site so they offered us our choice. The owner took us out to see each spot to make our choice.

The campground definitely caters to families with younger kids. My adolescent teens still had fun. The mini golf, pool, chess board, and hammock area were a hit. We spent one morning in Gatlinburg and the rest of our trip just hanging out at our site.

It is really hard for tent campers to find a good campground. What I really want, as a tent camper with a family, is a campground which has nice sites with a little bit of separation between them, along with a few services - showers and a camp store. We chose this campground knowing that it was really more geared for RV campers, so we would have to sacrifice solitude for services, and with two young kids elected this site instead of the more primitive ones in the national park.

This campground has lots of services - free showers, regular bathrooms, ice cream shop, pool, mini golf, playground. My kids loved it, but truthfully there's a little more than is needed. In terms of services, the store is a souvenir shop, not a camp store. They have no food items, and for things you might need ALL they have is wood and ice. There are a couple of convenience stores a few minutes' drive up the road.

Where I really have an issue is the spacing of campsites. We had a "streamside site" - which was beautiful and right on the stream. Thankfully, the stream was loud because there are 4 campsites packed in on a spot barely big enough for 1, and three out of our four nights we had LOUD groups in adjacent sites that even the loud stream couldn't drown out. They are packing just too many in a small area. Kids in adjacent sites were constantly walking through our site, adults next to us talking loudly well after midnight, a baby crying until about 2am, one group arriving at about 10pm and setting up all made this kind of a disruptive experience.

The location is good, depending on what you're looking for. It's not in Gatlinburg (thankfully, that's quite a circus) and is about a 30 minute drive from the main visitor center of GSMNP. Not too bad, but felt a little far a few times at the end of a long day or when we were trying to get out and do hikes.

One other comment - there are showers in a "main" bathhouse which are quite nice, and a "front" bathhouse which are much smaller, dirtier, and not as nice. Unfortunately, the time that seems to have been chosen for cleaning of the main bathhouse is about 6pm - exactly when many campers are coming back from a day out dirty and wanting to take a shower. They had the bathhouse closed for at least an hour and a half two days in a row right at this time. You could clean at noon with minimal disruption.

Overall, we had a nice stay mostly because we were happy to make the best out of any situation and when tent camping you pretty much take what you can get. I would stay here again, but know that I'm choosing to do so for everything ELSE that the campground has to offer, not optimizing my actual campsite itself. And I would be sure to bring earplugs.

Room Tip: Consider getting two sites to avoid too many neighbors.
