Description: Listed in Southern Living as theRidgewood's pork is as good as it gets. Hickory-cooked hams are sliced and souped with a tangy, dark-red, slightly smoky sauce (available by the pint and quart near the cash register) and served as a platter, under a heap of terrific dark-gold French fries, or in a giant sandwich that spills out all sides of the bun. South's Finest Barbecue.

our latest visit was equal to all the previous ones - GREAT~! everyone was friendly and helpful. the atmosphere is cheerful & relaxed. the food is simply EXCELLENT~! you won't find a better BBQ. the slaw is top notch too. the tea is delicious. the fries were like homemade fries. we went home with our usual quart of BBQ sause and a quart of coleslaw.

Ridgewood is the finest bbq in Northeast Tennessee. Their pork has the perfect smoke flavor without being oversmoked. You get large portions too. Not fancy, just great food.

I have been to Ridgewood numerous times and have never been disappointed. I usually get the blue cheese dip to start which is absolutely AMAZING, and just something you've got to try if you go. After that, generally I get a barbecue pork sandwich, fries, and some of the best baked beans I've ever had in a restaurant. All of this food is always too much for eat and usually enough for a meal or two of leftovers at home. The blue cheese dip is good on the crackers there, good on their fries, good on their barbecue, and good on carrots and nearly anything else once you get home :)
Like I said I've been here numerous times and I plan to keep going back!

What you've heard about the wait is true - it was a very long wait to get in. The staff was great. The atmosphere was neat (nostalgic). There were 4 adults in our party. We all had pulled pork. Some had the sandwich & others the platter, but we all had the same opinion. We were all accustomed to pulled pork so keep that in mind. The meat was more like it was shaved meat and not as tender in our opinion. If you are accustomed to that, this could be just what you are looking for.
