Everyone wants to go where everybody knows your name. From the first time I walked into High Thyme the people were genuinely friendly and welcoming. It is always nice when you walk into a restaurant where they are happy you are joining them, as opposed the attitude that they are doing you a favor. Even the regulars are inviting!!
Then comes the food. It is delicious, consistent (now that I have been there more than once), nicer than the "bar and grill" vibe but not fancy or stuffy. The portion sizes are great! You aren't getting this kind of "bang for your buck" anywhere on the island.
My favorites: the lasagna, cioppino, any fish dish (seriously this is where they shine, especially the daily fish specials) and oh THE KEY LIME PIE! Wednesdays are great for half off wine (who doesn't enjoy that) which is when we typically go! Brunch on the porch is fun but I am a later in the day brunch person. I hear first thing in the morning is super busy. Gonna need to try the tapas night and report back!
