We have stayed at the Harbourtown Inn at least once a year (usually twice) since our honeymoon in 2008. The Inn's consistent excellence keeps us coming back year after year. The beds are more comfortable than my own, the staff is always polite, professional, and accommodating to our every request, and the food at the newly renovated clubhouse is superb. It's always been our favorite place to relax without worrying about consistent quality. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Hope you will get the chance to enjoy it also!

The food and service was excellent. The bar tender and Mike were really attentive and extremely professional. The burger and the fish tacos were both good, washed down with a beer. Friendly and causal environment.

The decor inside is superb, and the outdoor decking is beautiful. Firepits and patio heaters provide heat for the cooler days.

We booked a last minute trip and lucked out! We checked trip advisor for one of the best places to stay in Hilton Head Island. Lucky for us it was the last week before rates went up for the Spring! It was amazing! When I booked the reservation, the agent listened to exactly what I wanted, and we got the perfect room! Quiet, private, and a view of the famous golf course! The weather was perfect! Sadly for us, my husband contracted a stomach flu, and shared it with me the next day. The staff was so very attentive, asking if they could help at all.. The butler service (aka room service) was nice, and Martha the housekeeper made sure we had everything we needed. We will return soon, and looking forward to a great trip!
We had been to one of the Sister properties, the Sanctuary at Kiawah several years ago, and I didn't think we could top that! I do believe Sea Pines has a slight edge! Try both!

Room tip: The golf course!!

Stayed at Inn & Club at Harbour Town - Sea Pines Resort and the "off season" vibe was perfect for our taste. This Inn resides within an overall gated community and your reservation provides you with the gate pass to go and come as you please. Self parking is free and there is a valet parking option which was complimentary within our vacation package, but I believe this is otherwise an "add on". Room views can vary - we asked for a tennis view, but in fact you may be looking out to a tennis court "over" a parking lot, but the Live Oaks buffer the view a bit. If you have a room at the back you will be looking out over a beautiful golf course!

We were welcomed with champagne on arrival - a nice touch for sure - and it was a quality champagne! All of the staff are "butlers" and will see to your every want and need throughout your stay. Our butlers had a range of experience, with some more seasoned, and others who were Master's students in their final years of a Hotelier degree. Mostly all of the "student butlers" seemed to be from the UK (England, Ireland). All were terrific, full of energy and willingness to help, and we had to ask to even be aware that they were students doing a 1 year work internship as part of their study program.

Specifics follow:

1. Rooms are NOT in the contemporary style and are more of a "southern golf club resort style". We generally prefer contemporary styling but this worked for us. Rooms were nicely appointed. Bathroom had double sinks, walk in shower, and a soaker tub.
2. In room safe provided, ironing board, and iron. Complimentary local paper and USA Today delivered to your room each AM.
3. There is a small but adequate exercise room on the third floor (with cool cloths and water bottles in small frig) and access to a full fitness center somewhere else on the property. We found the exercise room adequate and generally not occupied (probably because "off season") but having the basics - free weights (dumbells only), one elliptical, one treadmill, multi station cable machine, one stepper, and one recumbent bike, so we never did look for the full fitness center.
4. We had a king deluxe room which also had a small balcony outside with two chairs and small table - which we loved using in the early AM and for me, with the coffee from the "pod" machine.
5. Complimentary bottles of water provided in-room, in exercise room, outside in case it is hot, and the desk will also provide.
6. Complimentary bikes for riding around - would strongly recommend as there are plenty of paths and a beautiful wooded setting and or harbor setting with shops to explore. The butlers also provide you with water for your ride (and each bike has a basket and a lock in case you want to go shopping along the way).
7. Warm lobby with a library with fireplace to one side, a sitting area to the other, small bar, and coffee and tea service in AM (with takeout cups) and Lemon Water, Iced Tea, in the PM.
8. We enjoyed the outside patio area each night, looking out over the beautifully manicured golf course and over to the club house. On the patio there are those "warming stands" (not sure what they are called) and "table fire pits" which helped take off the chill in the evening.
9. Easy access to many restaurants on the property and the butlers will drive you over and or back...especially if you need a Designated Driver. Please note that "resort wear" and or a minimum of slacks for men with a collar shirt (or dressier, depending on restaurant), is required at the onsite restaurants.
10. Hilton Head is an island and to explore you will appreciate having a car. If you mainly want to stay put and play golf or tennis, you won't need a car onsite, per se.
11. OK so maybe we weren't paying attention but we thought there was NO room service option and learned on our last day that there was! We did enjoy going out to experience various restaurants, but would have also enjoyed staying in on occasion, if we had been "on the ball"!
12. Speaking of restaurants, there is ONLY ONE that is open 24 hours on the island of Hilton Head and that is the Hilton Head Diner. This is a true diner, with the owner who has three diners in New York City area bringing his model south. Great food, reasonable prices, has liquor license, old time feel, plays 50s and 60s music most of the time to go with the theme. Populated by locals, visitors, local police, EMTs, etc. and the help is friendly and promises to serve you at "your pace" ... so linger or rush based on your schedule!

Hoping you will enjoy your stay and appreciate all that The Inn & Club at Harbourtown - Sea Pines Resort has to offer, including golfing, tennis, horseback riding, bicycling, heated pool (we forgot our suits), poking around the island, and my personal favorite treat - butler service!

Room tip: All rooms are good, but if you want the best view, ask about the golf course view. Ask about patio for your room.
