My daughter and I visited during our mother daughter vacation. Right away I noticed the friendly and down home feel. It really is all about relaxing. We stayed at a two bed two bath room which is more like a condo than a room. 2-3 couples could stay there easily. There is a kitchen, filled with everything you would need. Also a sofa and TV. There were beautiful biking or walking paths. A wonderful beach only a 10 minute drive away. There are resort wear and souvenir shops on sight. There is also a small grocery and pizza shop. Home made ice cream shop and all of the restaurants were unique and very convenient. I know they have fishing and water sports on sight but we were only there for the last two days of our vacation but next time I go I will definitely be staying longer!

We have been coming to HHI for over 10 years and once we found this gem we won't stay anywhere else! We have stayed in almost every room and none of them are bad however the 2 bedrooms give you so much space! Having 2 sleeping areas for a family of 4 with an extra bathroom is great and the rates are so competitive. Only suggestion is that if you have small children bring a baby gate so that you can block them from the spiral staircase. The other thing we really like is that we can rent by the day and not locked into a week since some years we were limited on time off. A bike rental place is located right there as well and I would say to get one since you can get anywhere by bike in Sea Pines. The trails are fantastic!

Rooms - beds are a little soft but adequate. Having a full-size fridge in the kitchenette is a plus so that we can have food in the room for breakfast/lunch and only need to go out for dinners. They also clean your rooms daily when you stay at the inn, they also will clean your dishes and replace any towels. Love having the convenience of a condo with the service of a hotel!

Location - our car is parked when we arrive and it does not move our entire stay! We are South Beach snobs since the options are endless around there. The Salty Dog is a great place to hang out and have a drink but you can also take the trolley over to Harbour Town any time of the day (bike ride is about 4 miles and takes a good 30-45 min. Our kids are accustomed to this but not sure how many would want to take on that ride). There are plenty of places to eat at both South Beach and Harbour Town, we recommend Jake’s pizza and the grill since you can grab those and sit at the tables by the bar. Kids can get ice cream every night!

Entertainment – live music is every night during the summer at both locations. The kids activities at Salty Dog are better than over at HT but we do recommend going over there 1 night for the kids concert. Salty Dog is a complete family hangout! Our boys have grown up here and we feel completely comfortable allowing them to walk around the area by themselves now that they have a phone. I am a little more hesitant to allow them to roam around HT though.

Beach - Walking distance to both beach areas - to the right is the inlet area with calmer waters and the dolphins or manatees sometimes come up close. At low tide there is a drop but you still have some decent beach front during high tide. The ocean side is to the left and it will give you more wave action at high tide but WATCH FOR THE RIP CURRENTS! They are going to be most active around the curve where the inlet comes to the ocean and as the tide is going out you can actually see the current. Head up north a little more and you can avoid that situation. We recommend renting or bringing bikes and going up to the beach club to enter the Atlantic beach. There is also restroom facilities there. Pack a lunch, drinks and your bags to stay there for the day! Umbrellas don’t fare well on the ocean side, we purchased a beach tent which holds a little better but those winds can get quite strong.

Pool – nice little pool right there, works for when the kids are bored with the beach one day but we don’t hang out there much. You do need to bring a separate pool key to get in so not open to the public.

Our family looks forward to this trip every year! We have brought 2 other families down with us and they both have agreed as well that the location is perfect. This year we are still renting through South Beach but trying a condo behind the bike rentals so that both families can stay together. Will miss the easy walk down the steps from our Inn condo to be right in the action though.

Room Tip: Any of the 2 bedroom units! The ones overlooking the harbor gives great views but people watching over the courtyard at night is fun.

This place is right in the heart of the 'Salty Dog' complex so you can walk to the pool, the beach, the several tiki bars, the 3 formal restuarants, the tennis courts, and all the 'tourist trap' shops. Last minute decision to go, and had no problem getting the room I wanted. The ladies that work the office, Llinda, Patty and another who I cant recall, are among the most friendly and helpful EVER! Only complaint was that the lighting in the room was poor. Had trouble reading the TV remote when sittng in a chair. Everything else was a home run at single prices.

Room Tip: avoid room #210. It backs up to a bar and kitchen, and you can hear the close up operations through the wall well into the night

This is such a nice place. We like it so much we always stay here when in Hilton Head. It is very comfortable and has a close entry to the beach. The staff is friendly, kind and helpful. The mattresses are new. The furnishings are nice. Restaurants and shops are very close by.

We were headed to a conference in Savannah and wanted a couple days of relaxation before the conference. This was a great place to get away to. We rented bikes and rode them all over on the flat terrain and nice paved trails. We went down to the beach and watched dolphins feeding and breaching, went past lots of ponds with alligators (all from a very safe distance and rocked in), and had a lovely view of the harbor off of our veranda. The area was very quaint and the restaurant had good food. They did have bug spray bottles on the dining tables but, for the most part, there was a gentle breeze that mostly kept bugs away.
