My wife and I had an incredible stay in the Greene Room on the night of our wedding. Though we don’t live far from Greenville, we wanted to stay somewhere special before leaving for our honeymoon the next morning. We had considered staying at a hotel suite, but we are so glad that we chose this charming and refined bed & breakfast instead, as it provided a much more personal and intimate experience than we would have found in a hotel suite. Because our visit took place on a Sunday in December, the house wasn't full, which worked to our advantage, though I don’t suspect it would have been unpleasant at full capacity either.

The fireplace in the Greene Room was fully prepared for our use, and it worked quite well. The room was also furnished with a vase of red roses, which was a surprising treat. Our only complaint with the room was the size of the bathroom, which is on the small side, but it certainly didn't spoil our stay.

The location is very convenient, being close to downtown. The only downside of the location is the lack of yard space, since the adjacent buildings are close on both sides of the property, but the grounds are beautifully decorated and well maintained, providing a quaint experience in this historic district.

Lori, the owner, was extremely pleasant and accommodating throughout our stay: in the morning, for example, she helped us print our flight information, as well as copy other documents needed for our travels. Lori had also asked us if we had any special requests for breakfast, but we gave the chef carte blanche, which we didn’t regret. Scott, the chef, prepared an outstanding breakfast, which included banana-pudding French toast topped with a caramel sauce, which was out of this world, as well as bacon, fresh fruit, coffee, and juice.

Although we’re local, the next time my wife and I need a vacation from our daily grind, without the travel, we’re considering another stay at the Pettigru Place, and we’re definitely going to recommend it to any visiting family or friends.

Room Tip: The Giraffe Room, which is the only room on the first floor, has the largest and most contemporary bathroom of the bunch, but one of the other rooms, I was told, is having its bathroom renovated soon as well.

We just had the pleasure of staying at Pettigru Place. Lori was very welcoming, and made us feel right at home. Our room was lovely, and comfortable, everything was decked out for Christmas..and so festive! Breakfast was amazing! Wow! Come and visit..just for the breakfast experience! My husband and I highly recommend Pettigru Place!

My wife and I stayed here on 10/25/2011. The owner, Lori, is on site and is very accommodating. She told us of a very good Tapas restaurant and we enjoyed it. We had the Rosamunde room and it was quite clean and the bed was comfortable. You can walk ( about 15 minutes ) to center city from this B&B. We plan on coming back in the Springtime.

My husband and I took a road trip for our first year anniversary at the beginning of Aug. We went from Asheville to Greenville, Charleston, Hilton Head and Savannah. Greenville was one of our favorite places, partly because of Lori and Pettigru Place. She was so accommodating and went above and beyond to look-up, print out, do anything to make us enjoy ourselves to the fullest. We are thinking of relocating and hope to bring the entire family back to experience Greenville and stay at stay at Pettigru Place!

We discovered Pettigru Place a few years ago and it is the ONLY place to stay in Greenville! It is within walking distance of downtown and we stayed here when visiting our kids in college. From the moment you enter the door and Lori shows you to your room and brings you wine, cheese, crackers and fruit, to the following morning when your are served the most amazing gourmet breakfast at your table, we have never been to a better B&B. We stay at bed and brakfasts quite often and this is THE best one we have visited ever. So much better than the chain hotels and SO much more for your money! Almost sad our kids have all graduated so we have no reason to head to Greenville. This place is a best kept secret!
