This is great place to visit to see and support this organization.
They have a tour y W army the second sat in Oct that is very popular. It sales out every year. Best way to get tickets is to join.
We’ve been coming to Edisto for over 10 years and this was the first time we went to the museum. The gift shop is lovely and I bought lots items. The history relics are fantastic.
Small but very well done museum. Will take at least 2 hours if you like to read - so don't just blow it off. Did not realize there was more than one kind of cotton. Special children's area. Adding to their collection all the time. Also has a couple picnic tables under the trees.
Put this on your must see list! And there is no way to go to the island without passing the place.
Do not leave without stopping by... We came to Edisto not sure what to find, but left so enriched. We left with cookbook, and history book. great little museum.
I have to confess, I lived on the island 10 years before visiting the museum. What a mistake! I now volunteer as a docent a few hours a month. People are always surprised at how long they stay.
The Edisto Island History Museum is full of so many items from the area. It was our second visit, and it was as interesting the second time as the first. Edisto Island is so full of history, and this museum reflects that. We took our grandson, who did the scavenger hunt, and he loved it. This museum also has a nice gift shop and very friendly people, who seem to love their job/position. If you enjoy learning more about Edisto Island, this is one of the places to go.
