Absolutely adore this beach access! It is truly a gem of Beaufort. If you are looking for a true beach experience unpolluted by commercialism, this is it!

My wife, teenaged girl, and 2 year old son came here. It was gorgeous! You drive through a maze of palmetto trees and to see the fallen ones haven't been cut up or cleared out top be removed adds to the natural scene.
We only had time to stay on the south beach but it was wonderful. My son enjoyed and niece really enjoyed wading in the water and playing on the sand. It's not like a commercial beach that's littered or have vendors constantly selling items. It's just a plain beach. We will visit again in a few days.

I grew up coming out here to the beach, and boy has it changed! It’s just as beautiful and scenic, but gone are the wide expanses of sand and dunes. The area near the lighthouse is eerily littered with the remains of hundreds of fallen trees blown down during the last decades’ worth of hurricanes. It’s fascinating to walk (and climb!) through. The hike to the top of the lighthouse never disappoints, and even though it’s all very different than what I remember from 30 years ago, it’s still just as picturesque.

We stayed in site 146 which was close to the bathrooms and the park store and beach access. The campground amenities were amazing. Playground for the kids, park store with ice, ice cream, firewood, and souvenirs, heated bathrooms with clean showers, soap, accelerated hand dryer, tp stocked, and water and electric at our campsite. We were just across the street from beach access which made getting to the sun and sand that much easier. There is still quite a bit of debris left over from the hurricanes and storms, but they are clearing/cleaning as best as they can and rebuilding is evident too. The beach was beautiful with lots of shells and rocks to collect for fun. There is a lighthouse down the road and a nature center. We were lucky enough to catch "Feeding Frenzy" at the nature center on Thursday at 3pm. They fed their alligators and snakes. Quite the event. My son loved it. We went on a couple of hikes - one just down the beach and one trail near the nature center. Also went to the boardwalk to view wildlife. We found some interesting crabs. It was a very enjoyable trip and the staff everywhere was very friendly and helpful, especially in the park store. We really enjoyed our time here.
