Excellent beach for children. Mystical walks thru jungle for older children and adults. This is good price.

Amazing beach!! Can’t wait for the complete beach to be redone after the damage from the hurricanes.

Living in the low country just a short drive to HI. Visited to check out the conditions since HI second reopening. South Beach was closed, Pier is still closed as is the trail to the lagoon, nature center is open. Lighthouse area is open and the beach is walkable in both directions, parking is limited , the lighthouse is open.

We have spent many mornings and afternoons at Hunting Island State Park. It is a great place to stretch your legs, take pets for a walk and of course, swim and play in the spring and summer. What makes this beach so unique is the erosion. The trees go right up to the sand, which makes for a very different kind of backdrop. The lighthouse is quite fun and there is a ton of wildlife. Hurricane Matthew definitely did some damage, but we'd still recommend anyone visiting the Beaufort area to definitely make the trip out to the State Park.

Hunting Island is a beautiful area that is unspoiled. it took an awful hit from two hurricanes and has a lot of erosion. However, you can still enjoy the beach and climb the light house. The camp ground is closed at the time being.
