This is a small museum with a big influence in the early days of the America's Cup races. Family owned and run by 2 brothers, it built some of the fastest racing boats in the world. The Herreshoff company made boats for the rich and famous and also created a torpedo boat for the US Navy back in World War I. An interesting place to visit and it includes a nice history of the America's Cup races.

Wow! Want to learn all about the history of America's Cup Yacht Racing in the glory days of the late 1800's and early 1900's? Get to the HMM! Lots of great historic boats on the property, magnificent historic half-hulls, written and photographic history, etc., etc.. definitely worth a visit; plan a half-day to see it all.

If you're a Herreshoff fan, or fond of the America's cup this is a must visit. Some very nice older vessels on display. Knowledgeable staff, and it's a working museum so some are under restoration. If this type of museum is your thing, don't miss it.

Stopped here to please my husband and found that I thoroughly enjoyed it as well. Being able to board a couple of the exhibits made all the difference. I would go back.

Builders of sail- and other types of boats, the Herreshoff family were innovators. The history of their shipbuilding and ability to see many boats was a delight!
