My friend and I were looking for a cabin for lodging when visiting the PA Grand Canyon and happened upon Happy Acres website...the website is much like the 'resort'...a bit outdated and shabbily done. We took a chance and had a great experience. When we arrived at the campground....which resembles something out of the '60's we were not sure what to expect. We were 'greeted' by Tim the manager - after taking a short walk around the 'resort'..we had reservations for only one night but since the weather was going to be beautiful we asked at check in if we could stay two nights. We were told our cabin was not available for two nights but the "Yurt" was....we hesitantly took the "Yurt". It really was a fun experience and if it was located in a more private area would consider staying there again.
The "Yurt" has a lovely bathroom and cute little kitchen area. Kitchen has a microwave, stove and refrigerator and enough space to cook. There were kitchen utensils, dishes and other supplies. Bathroom has a shower and small Jacuzzi tub. NO hair dryer and no toiletries are included. The bed is a full size bed and quite comfortable. Small TV with satellite reception. Small old couch and chair....never sat on them ---- A small deck with a gas grill and a fire ring and picnic table included. We did no cooking but ate at the Happy Acres restaurant ....food was so-so but within walking distance. Next time we would bring food to cook but would visit the restaurant in the evening for a few drinks! Saturday night live entertainment at the bar!

Room Tip: If you are looking for privacy take a look at the cabins on Acorn Drive...other than that you are ri...

This is our second trip here. We were here a few years ago and stayed in the same cabin (The Bear Hug Cabin). My wife and I love the cabin and love the campground! Checking in was very easy to do. The staff was very nice. After checking in, we went to our cabin. The Bear Hug is a small, one bedroom cabin with a living room/kitchen combo. There was a nice sized bathroom and a loft, if needed. They also had a jacuzzi tub in the bedroom (didn't use either trip...maybe next time).

The cabin has been here for a few years and has been rented quite a bit, but you would never be able to tell once you get inside. The rooms are kept very clean. It is pet friendly but you would never tell that past guests had any pets in there. We found no trace of human or pet when we checked in.

The cabin has a cell phone antenna amplifier for having service in the middle of nowhere. There is also hi speed internet. We also had satellite tv service and the bedroom has a tv/dvd (there is no satellite with the bedroom tv).

All the furnishings, bed, sofa, chairs were very comfortable. This was nice after a long day of mountain biking.

There are several cabins close by but the other guests were very quiet.

There is parking for two cars if needed. My truck took up about 1 1/2 of a parking spot.

It is a short walk to the office and other amenities. It would be possible to walk to the restaurant and bar nearby but we decided to drive due to us being very tired from the earlier activities.

All we saw were squirrels and chipmunks but friends of ours that stay there said that seeing bears in camp isn't uncommon.

We definitely plan on staying there again! Our service has always been great and the cabin has always been a home away from home for us!

Room Tip: There are several cabins to choose from. They range from small to very large. Couples are best at t...

We didn't really know what to expect from this resort as the website has limited information but we had a lovely stay. The lodge was very clean and well equiped. The staff at the reception cabin were very friendly and helpful. The Restaurant and shop were good and close enough to walk to (If you want to risk meeting bears in the dark, although unfortunately we didn't see any). They had Hummingbirds hovering outside the windows which were so cute.

As city folk we would recommend this for a taste of the country. We went to Penns Cave which was a great day out (They had a bear) and we also went horse riding with Tioga Trail Rides which we really enjoyed.

From London, England

Room Tip: Bobcat cabin was on the edge of the woods in a nice quiet location away from the playground etc

We stayed at one of the cabins which was furnished with basic kitchen supplies, WiFi, TV and a grill. Going into Williamsport for the Little League World Series was about a 30 min scenic drive.

They also have a very nice restaurant, a pool, game room, ice cream, a store, basketball, laundry all within walking distance from our cabin.

Just don't forget to bring your own Sheets and towels or request them and they'll have them ready for you!

The resort is very quiet and takes great pride in keeping it family friendly. So no loud music, parties etc.

Stayed in the Hilltop Cabin for two nights while participating in the Call of the Wilds Marathon. It was a renovated trailer, but that was hard to tell. It was so beautifully done and equipped that it felt very comfortable and quiet. It was in the middle of campers, popups, and RVs, but that did not take away from it's charm. The resort had Lot's of activities for the kids and was very well run. The one little maintenance item was addressed in a few minutes. Their restaurant was right across the street and it was terrific and had a huge friendly bar with a live band. Don't count on the WIFI working though.
