Celebrated the New Year here. A Full house. Very good service, and the food was very good as well.they had a special menu for New Year’s Eve. This menu was shorter than their regular menu. From a non fish eater , the menu seems tilted more towards fish/ sea food. Not that there is anything wrong with that. My friend had the salmon ( on both the special menu , and the regular menu) . They said it was very good but it had small bones in it. I had the chicken. It was really good. The only thing bad I can say about the chicken was, I could have eaten 2 of them. Both dinners came with Mash potatoes and Green Beans. The only thing I can say about the green beans is, glad they weren’t Black Eye Peas. It cam with a salad , bad thing , no thousand Island dressing.
All in all , really good meal there.

Spring. House. Tavern is known for its crab cakes, which are delicious! They have many specials, including half price for wine by the bottle one night during the week. Good food, great value!

After a pleasant dinner a few months ago we visited again for dinner. The tavern is very pleasant with interesting options for dinning areas. To paraphrase Forest Gump's mother: " life(dinner) is like a box of chocolates you never know what you are going to get". This evening the service was friendly but way off on delivering what was ordered and the kitchen missed on vegetable orders by heavy handing the garlic making them uneatable. The house salad would have been laughable in its tastelessness and content if we had not been looking forward to salad. The ordered snapper soup was never delivered. Now on to what was good. The bread was a nice rye bread and the crab cakes were what they always are here which was very good. Crab Cakes are pricy wherever they are created with a good mix of crab and filler but the $28 seem a bit over the top considering the lack of quality in other element of the meal. I did feel the need to modify my most recent previous post so as not to be responsible for setting expectation incorrectly. The Crab Cakes have always been the same high quality selection but the rest of the menu items, unless you know them to be always good, are troubling inconsistent.

First time diner at Spring House Tavern, and worth a return visit. Followed a number of recommendations to try the "famous" crab cakes, and was rewarded. Though apparently not made with the typical lump crab meat often used elsewhere, these seemed packed with shredded pieces -- and, fortunately, without the drawback of lots of "filler." Tasty. Dinner companions enjoyed their dishes -- fresh oysters, French dip, and steak wedge salad. They also enjoyed their pumpkin cheesecake. Very crowded (bar section), and server (Janis) seemed spread too thin; initially difficult to get her attention, but she was personable and effective afterwards.
