This restaurant is owned and run by a husband and wife team. the husband is the waiter and the wife is the cook. I always go there for breakfast because the food is really good, and I know that it is cooked fresh. They also serve lunch but I haven't tried that as of yet.

Thank Burroughs

You have not eaten and tried anything until you have tried the amazing creations at " WhatNot Shoppe Cafe " in Shamokin, Pennsylvania. This is not a chain it is a Fabulous Independent Establishment unexpected in an old fashioned coal mining town. Most people would pass through this town on their way to a family weekend getaway to Knoebel's Grove Amusement Park in Elysburg, PA. But pump your brakes in Shamokin on Independence Street before you go. We started off by stepping in just for a cup of coffee to get in from the chill of our leisurely walk. Little did we know that we would experience a signature home designed blend of coffee/espresso rolled up with fresh steamed milk latte the owner herself help engineer. But it didn't end there...today my significant other tasted the most courageous bowl of New England Clam Chowder. Each bite was a seasoned sensation of fresh herbs and bursting with home grown fresh vegetables, carrots and celery grown right out of the gardens of the owners of this best kept secret. (Of course I had to taste one or two spoonfuls. The Aroma commanded it.) Our Center of the Plate main course was nothing shy of creative and bursting with flavor. At first glance I could not imagine what Waffles and Beef Hot Dogs could possibly have in common. That was until my palette tasted it. It was lathered with Relish, Mustard, Mayo and my choice of American Cheese instead of Cheddar. My significant other had a similar combination of Waffles sandwiching a New York Style Cheese Steak. Fresh Peppers and Onions sauteed over a real Grade A Steak smothered with his choice of American Cheese. Even the side compliments of a wedge of pickle and baked potato chips with taco seasoning was a surprising addition.
