“Almond Milk Label is Misleading”

I tried the "Mocha Morning" smoothie, containing almond milk, banana, cocoa powder, and cold-pressed coffee. The smoothie was well-blended and the flavors were balanced. However, the "almond milk" that is listed on the menu is actually almond butter that is watered down. While the ingredients in almond milk/almond butter are similar, they are significantly different from a caloric/health perspective. Greenstraw needs to be more clear with the ingredient lists in the smoothies. The atmosphere could be improved with more friendly staff who smile at customers.

Hi Jenna,

Thanks for taking time to review. Importantly, we agree that employees should smile and be happy to see you so that's disappointing you didn't have that experience. We'll be discussing this with our crew who is generally very positive.

As for our almond milk, are you comparing to Sllk or Almond Breeze? Our recipe was taught to us by a well-regarded natural foods chef and is very similar to the nutritional content of store bought milks with a few important differences. Calories are about 10 calories higher per cup for our version and fat is 2 oz more per cup than store bought so as you can see it's quite comparable. If you evaluate any juice-bar made bottled almond milks also they will actually be much higher fat and calories than store bought (Almond breeze) brands. Most importantly though, ours has zero preservatives and is made with high quality almond butter. So yes, there are tradeoffs to making almond milk this way but we believe it's the best approach for our customers.

Thanks!

Very healthy, with plenty of options for all tastes. A bit pricey, but you do get what you pay for, and I would say it is worth the price.

Erinn - thanks so much for your review! We agree - the expense of buying the best quality is worth it. We truly care about our customers' health and appreciate those who understand that you either pay for high quality foods now or pay medical bills later. Thanks for being a customer!

We love to make juice and smoothies at home, so we are kind of critical. This place was perfect. Even the young ones drank it up within no time. We will definitely be back. We also loved the atmosphere and cleanliness. You must try!

I feel so good eating here. I'm not what you would call a health food connoisseur by any means, but everything here is fantastic. A large smoothie is an entire meal so I will gladly fork over 8 bucks. Way way better than the NAC. Much healthier and fresher options here.

Great smoothies. Wish they had more variety. My friends and I love meeting here but it can get very pricey. I love the fresh and organic variety but I guess you have to pay a little more for that.
