Visited the small inn in Lacawaxen after seeing the Roebling Bridge. The view from the deck was beautiful.
We were the first customers, door was locked and we had to wait. Hostess seemed annoyed when I said "The door is locked* and on entering she stated "it Takes a long time to set this up"
Waitress was very nice.
Food was plentiful and omelette' s good, however most of food too long in steam servers. Waffles overcooked and dry, also French toast, scrambled eggs were powdered. Beef was good, pork too dry to eat.
Had recommendations from friends, maybe this was and off day.

We've been going here for years....the food is great, and people are wonderful, and in the summer there's a fantastic tiki bar out back with a gorgeous view of the river. They also have nice rooms to stay in and they're pet friendly!!!!

We went here for a birthday dinner with friends since we heard a lot of good about the place. While the decor is a bit dated it wasn't so bad that you would not visit again. We opted to sit inside in the A/C since it was pretty humid out but would like to come again and sit on the deck overlooking the river. The waitresses we pleasant and handled the group of 7 of us (4 adults 1 teen and 2 children) pretty well. Drinks came out in a timely manner as did the appetizers. The mozzarella sticks and fresh cut fries were very good. The sauce for the sticks appeared to be home made and was very tasty. The fries were nice and crisp. Bread came out with our soups and salads. The bread was excellent. My Onion soup was a bit salty but tasted good nonetheless. The Brunswick soup was ok but not great. The salads were nice but the dressing choice was odd. There was no Italian. Our dinners came out and the portions were very generous. The roast turkey and roast beef was very tasty. The prime rib, while tender and tasty, was oddly colored. It looked like it was cooked in an immersion cooker since it was not browned at all. The steak and shrimp dinner was prepared well and the diner enjoyed it. The fried chicken was crisp and the baked potato that was served with it was gigantic. It was however, the standard food service fried chicken. On the plus side, I love that style of chicken so I will come back for it. All in all it was a very nice dinner with good service. We do feel it is a better place for munchies and drinks rather than a formal type meal. We do plan on returning for drinks and apps on the deck.

This place has a beautiful view and a great price for Sunday Brunch. Add a coffee and 2 sodas and you approach 60 bucks for cost. Service is slow and you have to seek out your wait person. Since they weren't exceptionally busy it was annoying to wait Alamo 15 minutes for our check and another 10 before she came back with our card. They were very nice though . Since we weren't in a rush, this wasn't a problem. Let's talk about the food.

There was a plentiful buffet with hits and misses. The ham with fruit was good. Chicken Picata was OK. Scrambled eggs were bland and bacon was good but cold. Biscuits and gravy were delicious. Carved turkey and roast beef were very good. Pulled pork was dry. Lamb stew was good but tasted semi-homemade. Scalloped potatoes were good. Home fires were delicious. French toast was cold, stiff and inedible. Seriously, this was the first time I ever left French toast. Crepes were nice and having fresh bananas and strawberries on the dessert table was great the crepes should have been next to them.. The pudding is room temperature and straight out of the can . There was some white, runny watery stuff and I didn't try it because I wasn't sure if it was yogurt or whipped cream.

Over all, it was Ok. Worth the 15 bucks. I'd go back. With a little tweaking, this place could be awesome!

We enjoyed good, well prepared food, generous portions, good drinks, on their beautiful outdoor deck overlooking the Delaware River. Will be going again this July in connection with kayaking on the Delaware River.
