So, we travel a lot internationally, and have been to many wine regions. I will probably offend the locals but Hunter Valley is not among the most beautiful. I suggest then that you make the scenic 30 minute or so drive out the beautiful Wollombi Road after visiting a few wineries, and spend the night here! Lovely country setting. Quaint rooms. We were here on a night when dinner wasn’t offered so I can’t speak for the food. But there is an interesting dining spot less than 10 minutes drive away - Great North Trading Post. If you’re looking for boutique accommodation right in the wine area, this isn’t for you. If you want a memorable stay away from it all after some wineries, this is it!

Great food and great friendly staff. The menu had lots of variety and options for different tastes. A great relaxed vibe with historic charm.

We visited Wollombi as it had good reviews and was different to Pokolbin. What a great decision. We took the mount view road and it was picturesque and worthwhile.. We had selected Mulla Villa from the maps and found a gem. Breakfast was amazing, met the owners, coffee yum and there are walks you can do to the caves on the property. Highly recommend it

Dark room with no window so very confined. Very basic breakfast. No sitting room/ area for sitting. No TV. Not very tidy - random things left lying around. Very small basin in bathroom. Comfortable bed. Nice furnishings. Could be lovely as has lots of potential.

We were on a drive and decided to stop for some food and ended up as a surprise. While we were waiting for the food to arrive we had the owner come to us and explain to us about the property and history and was a very great conversation. I saw him doing the same with other guests who were having food. The food was really good though there weren't lot of options which is quite understandable. Post lunch we did a walk around the property and that was worth. Would love to come back to stay there for a night sometime soon.
