Friendly hosts- Karen & Neville, great bar staff (make a mean margarita!) and talented chef. Lovely heated spa (perfect after a day on the slopes), quirky bar to unwind and fantastic 3 course meals + log fire to chill out with a Gluwein before bed (very comfy!). Great to get picked up off the slopes (you could walk, but who wants to in boots) and hang gear up in drying room. Great value for money- in fact we stayed an extra night!

Room Tip: We experienced 4 different rooms as a group and all were good!

We had a great 6 nights staying at this Chalet with friends, and also meeting other guests. The family room was perfect for us and our children and our room (17) was lucky enough to have a bathtub also.
The kids dinner at 6pm worked really well so they could enjoy the lounge and pool table while adults ate at 7pm.
The 3 course dinners were delicious everynight and the view of the slopes from the dining room were great at breakfast time and to watch the night skiing. Open log fire, hot tub, pub-like bar downstairs and comfortable beds all added up to a great week. We had enough snow to ski out of the door to the lifts in the morning and Neville picked us up from the slopes (with all our gear) to return to the chalet at the end of the day. Great team running the chalet too -very friendly and keen to make our family holiday as good as it could be.

Room Tip: Avoid staying near the staircase - can get noisy with early rising children in the morning

This hotel is near the piste and has a beautiful view at the mountain. The owners are really very kind and very helpful to make your stay as comfortable as possible. There is a big snooker table and the waitress was so kind to teach us the rules. The food is good, the cook loves to put a nice breakfast or dinner at the table.

Second time at Sonnenhof. This time we brought our 4 years old boy and my mom. We stayed on a family room super comfortable. They have an early dinner organized for all kids and later for adults. Food was amazing and staff friendly. The big jacuzzi was a must after a day on the snow plus our boy lovers it.

I am a repeat offender and have returned to Chalet Sonnenhof at least four times. Ok it is not the Hilton, the rooms are small but they are clean and if you get a room at the front of the Chalet amazing view of Front Valley. I have traveled the world and I have stayed in tents to the Hilton at Whistler. So why do I come back... the staff are amazing and the food is always excellent. It feels like coming home after a day of skiing (Neville picks you up with a smile from Front Valley or you can walk) to a warm spa/sauna, cold drink and amazing food. I love that the kids eat their meals before the adults and they can watch DVDs and just be kids.
Yes, the bar is small but the Margaritas are second to none and you can get a cold Beer, Cider or whatever Spirit you want. I love the place, Karen and Neville along with the staff each year make it feel like coming home without the work.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of Front Valley.
