We got a warm greeting and had a wonderful sea view out over Little Beach. We had two little kids under the age of 8 with us. Cleverly the restaurant provided some really cool stuff to keep them amused whilst their parents enjoyed a good cellar, some boutique beers and fabulous seafood. Make sure you book!

This a new restaurant and one of our few favourites in the Nelson Bay Area. Staff are very attentive and friendly. Limited menu is well chosen and fresh. Views across the beach and bay are spectacular on a nice sunny day. A great place for a special occasion. It is worth arriving early to savour the serenity and views before everyone else arrives. You will also need to book to ensure a table as I think everyone else has found this little gem too.

I love eating in this restaurant, the food & service are fantastic. The location right on the water at Little Beach is fabulous, we watched dolphins fish beneath us while we ate, sunset is the best time of day at Little Beach. The service is sensational, they are all so friendly & helpful, up for a laugh. My favourite meal is the hand cut spaghetti with seafood, everyone we have gone with have enjoyed their meals, desert platter is great to share over coffee, I can't wait to go back

We arrived at 1.30pm for lunch - perhaps a tip for couples wanting a quieter meal experience, as there were louder larger tables finishing up when we first got there, and the room was quite noisy on first arrival. The room is unpretentious, the staff genuine and helpful both on the phone and in service. We opted for a shared bread starter (with confit garlic, plus an olive oil and balsamic reduction dip). There was a solid wine (1 glass of NZ Sauvignon blanc) and an interesting beer menu (2 moon boys), as well as soft options, and later espresso coffee. Mains were served in a timely manner, and were hot, fresh and very delicious. Portion sizes were ideal for us, but we are not big eaters...some may find them on the small side? We enjoyed fish and chips (whiting fillets) served with a house tartare and a small side salad/garnish, and the Ravioli of the day, cooked al dente, which was 4-cheese and shallot. The shallots were sweet and unctuous, our only gripe was perhaps a little oily on the plate. (We cleaned our plates though!) We shared the sticky walnut pudding with salted caramel icecream scoop for dessert, with a coffee. The cake was good, the icecream the highlight. Our total bill came to $98.

The location is a real feature. The restaurant is delightfully situated away from the shopping and marina drag of Nelson Bay, in the favourite family holiday nook of Little Beach. As Novocastrians, the location has many old and treasured memories associated. We had a perfect day of sunshine and light breeze, with the only taint being the occasional jet skiers recreating scenes from "Idiocracy" out in the blue distance. Not the restaurant's fault!

The styling of the food may be a little dated but if you want a great, unpretentious meal served by a lovely team of professionals please do consider.
