Stayed here for 2 nights on DB&B basis in Feb 2012. There was refurb work going on at the time but this did not affect our stay.

The food was exceptional with great service, lovely breakfast with plenty of choices.

We opted for a Sea View room which was great - clean, tastefully decorated, very comfortable bed, nice big bathroom and a great shower.

The hotel really is dog friendly - there is even a Lounge designated for dogs and their owners and the welcome pack and treats were much appreciated!

All in all, brilliant service and amazing location - hope to return!

Room Tip: Go for a Sea View Room.

Have just returned from another very enjoyable week in this hotel. It has the most spectacular location and views.
Even though parts of the hotel were undergoing renovation, the service and quality of the hotel were just as good as before.
The food was superb, the service here is so friendly whilst still being professional.
The night sky was magnificent.
Cant wait to get back there.

Room Tip: You cant go wrong if you have a sea view room.

I have been visiting this hotel for years. It is great for family, and it is also delightful for a couple. Dog friendly is great for dog lovers (and our girls) but the dogs were not a problem either (I don't love dogs). Food has always been good, service excellent and the location is to die for. If you are considering holidaying in this area and are looking for a pleasant hotel, you won't beat this one.

Room Tip: if you can get sea view, then all the better...

Stayed here in 2005 and have always wanted to return ! I believe they have had a massive refurbishment since i stayed.
We stayed in a sea view room. the views were amazing. The hotel at that time was a little tired although quite grand ! the bar looking out to sea was lovely. The food in the restaurant was superb, the seafood platter was wonderful !
We receive a Christmas card each year from the Mullion Cove Hotel and it makes me long to return.
the hotel its self is set in beautiful surroundings looking out to sea ! you can't get better than that.

Room Tip: sea view rooms are a must !

A really impressive hotel. The location is outstanding. The area is rugged, dramatic and stunning. The little island out to sea makes the view even more wonderful. The little harbour down the cliff is charming.

We had the Garden Suite, the ground floor 'Cove Suite' category, refurbished in March 2011. This was refurbished to a really excellent standard - far above what you'd expect in a 3* hotel. Lovely bathroom with walk in shower, heated floor. The lounge was comfortable and had stylish accessories. Excellent beds and linens - very comfortable. Lovely amenities in the suite as well - flapjack, fruit, mineral water, robes, slippers, nice toiletries.

We also saw a partial sea view room, sea view and premier sea view. All were really excellent. Obviously the size of the rooms varies, but the quality of decor and comfort was excellent. Many many 4* hotels in the UK can't match this for comfort, quality and style. The rooms were distinctive - no beige boredom here.

The hotel has three very comfortable lounges. For a winter stay, these were lovely and warm -not cold and stark at all as some seaside properties can be. One lounge is for dogs and their owners.

Quality of food is again very high - well above 3* expectations. Dinner menus were ambitious and well executed. Portions were just right. Dishes were boldly presented and consistently enjoyable. Breakfast was also of a very good standard - particularly the eggs benedict - spot on!! Lovely pastries and good coffee.

The Cove Bistro is just about to be refurbished and I'm sure this will be a real asset to the hotel. The owners seem to be willing to spend on good interior design and I'm sure this will be no exception.

Finally, the service was consistently excellent. Again, far above the normal service level you'd encounter in the UK. Restaurant service was completely professional, friendly and pleasant. Likewise the reception team were excellent. It was lovely to chat coming in and out of the hotel - particularly with Lorraine - so friendly and clearly loves working at the hotel. She was also very thoughtful in offering us a vacant room next to ours to dry our wet clothes from a walk as the hotel was a little quieter for the winter period.

The hotel was quiet when we were there, though my understanding is that's rare - this is a busy popular place. It's not hard to see why either.

Niggles? Hardly any really. Be nice to have better quality coffee in the room - Nescafe instant really didn't match the quality of the rest of the offer. The music in the restaurant was a little irritating and didn't match the ambience.

A great hotel - easy to recommend. So nice to see a UK hotel getting it right...

Room Tip: All the rooms bar standard have been refurbished.
