I'm rubbish at leaving reviews as I rarely have the inclination, even if my opinion of the rental/location is outstanding. However, feel it would be remiss of me not to comment on Bishops Quay. This is truly a slice of Heaven with vast amounts of charm and history. Please visit this cottage and make a point to read the welcome pack which explores the history of the home along with the family. The overview photo of this property doesn't do it true justice as it may be perceived to be a modern property but believe me, it has a lot of age and character. The facilities within are sublime with every imaginable item at your disposal.....Kate has really thought of everything and makes it a special visit with a most charming welcome pack. The kayaks and boats are available along with all equipment and good instruction is given by the owners in the how to's. This is a perfect escape and a glass of Malbec was the order of the day and complimented the log fire (unlimited supply of wood) which truly helped with our relaxation. This is a fair drive from our home (in the Cotswolds) but its most certainly worth it. I'll be going again without doubt, so book up....... before I get in there first!

“Stunning views”
Reviewed 12 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

We loved Bishops Quay. It was perfect for our family (especially our two labradors!). The house itself is very homely, with lots of little extras. The views from the bedrooms/dining table are exceptional- truly beautiful. We really enjoyed walking in after a long drive to homemade scones! Kate & Ben have been extremely pleasant throughout our stay and we hope to stay at BQ in the future.

“A tranquil beautiful spot”
Reviewed 5 September 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We have just returned from a very enjoyable week at Bishops Quay. The setting is beautiful, bird life abounds. Our teenage children loved kayaking and taking out the rowing boat from the quay. A great place to unwind and a good location for exploring the Helford peninsular.

“The best holiday home in the world!!!”
Reviewed 5 December 2015 for a stay in December 2015

We have been coming to Bishop's Quay for holidays as a family and as a couple over the past 15 years. It continues to be one of the coziest, best equipped places we've come across. There is not one need uncatered for. The kitchen is kitted out beautifully with all types of equipment that allows you to do anything from warm up take aways to cooking your own elaborate Sunday roasts; baking cakes and making delicious soups and stews.
We have made a habit of coming in the Winter months because the views are still outstanding and the house is so warm and cozy that it becomes the perfect hideaway. Kate and Ben have made sure that everything basic need is met including abundant logs for the fire; washing machine and dryer; a generous collection of books to suit all kinds of tastes, local information & tips for the best restaurants in the area plus super-speed wifi. I defy anyone to get bored here and then we haven't even mentioned the ideal location to drive to the corners of the Lizard and go for long Coastal walks.
And the story is not complete without referring to the fish that Ben's boats bring in fresh and can be bought direct from the quay or the fresh eggs and luscious cake that Kate always leaves out for you when you arrive. Honestly - a week here is absolute bliss!!

“Unforgettable”
Reviewed 18 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

This is a lovely, cosy house in a great location. It has breathtaking views throughout the day, but especially during the sunset. The house has all the comforts that one might need. All rooms have many decorative items, loads of books, games and vases of flowers everywhere. The owners, Kate and Ben made every effort to make us feel welcome. We very much appreciated the welcome tray of cream tea and delicious flapjacks on our arrival after a long drive. My daughter loved kayaking and the boats. She is already looking forward to our next holiday at Bishops Quay.
The area has loads to offer. Great walks, beautiful gardens and lovely small fishing villages. Trebah Gardens which is just across the river from this cottage was my favorite.
Many thanks once again to Kate and Ben for giving us this opportunity.
