“friendly stay over near Heathrow”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 February 2012

I have been staying at this hotel once or twice per year for the last 4 years. I stay there as a lay-over on my way to working in the middle east. Ken is in the restaurant and gives good tips on food. Misha and Jeffrey work the Hotel counter and are attentive and professional. It has a nice friendly "working class" appeal. The service and food is good. The chalet rooms are older with english charm (ask for chalet by name). There is an old English pub next door (19th century). Locals like to hang out there, with occasional incoming rugby and soccer groups compete at the fields nearby. The patrons are very friendly and offer good conversation. The Karaokee night is particularly fun. Wifi works only in the lounge and restaurant.

Room Tip: Ask for a chalet room.

This place is bizarre, lots of little brick chalet rooms with individual car parking spaces outside. They are set in pairs, and have only a thin wooden door adjoining - which means you can hear every sound your neighbours make. Quite offputting when trying to go to sleep, but our neighbours probably got the worse deal when our toddlers started bouncing off the walls at 6am! The planes fly right overhead, I was woken at about 4.15am by the first going over, although the rest of my family seemed to sleep through it. No central heating, but some storage heaters which seem to provide an odd kind of heat - didn't bother us but might bother someone sensitive to stuffy rooms. The kids loved watching the planes out of the window in the morning. Breakfast was ok, hot food not great. Rooms very spacious but had a dated US motel feel - very wierd. There was a £5 parking charge. The noise means I wouldn't stay here again, but my husband didn't notice it and thought it was good value for money. Note that if you turn left out of the hotel on the dual carriage way there is Osterley tube station a little way along which has a car park (only accessible from dual carriage way) - £4.50 to park all day.

Room Tip: Looks like there is a newer built double story block which might have better sound proofing?

This is a very basic hotel that caters for your basic needs. it is more of a motel than a hotel. the room is clean but always has a funny smell (cleaning equipement most likey). Aeroplanes fly right above the hotel. The decor is very outdated.

However the rooms are spacious and the staff polite. I would not stay for more than one night.

Heathrow airport is a 15 min drive away.

Room Tip: The family rooms are bigger and more spacious and closer to the reception. If you book in advance yo...

when I arrived I was given outside room ,this is a motel not a hotel,it should be correctly
advertised, the room had strange smell, the handle of the bathroom door came off in your
hand if you tried to close it ,the back door of thr room was locked,so if the was a fire at the front, theres no escape, the room phone was dead, promised they would knock my door,
and ring my mobile to wake me up.this did not happen,Ipaid 52 pounds for taxis, and 58
for the disgusting place, would have been cheaper and better to have gone to a proper
hotel, when I said to mischa the receptionist I should have been given discount she just
laughed,in a condescending manner, she was unhelpful, unprofessional and not suited to
this type of work, spoke withthe guest next door he has to stay at this place due to doing
work locally but he said the place is a shambles couldnt agree more, plus the noise
from the aircraft your awake most of the night, would never stay at this place or ever
recommend it,the people running dont seem to know what they are doing.

Room Tip: Terrible avoid it.
