What has happened to the Granary ?????

Together with my Wife and friends we have been regular visitors to the restaurant over the past couple of years.

Although not always on a voucher deal whenever it is available we tended to book it.

We have always found this excellent value and had some really enjoyable evenings with first class food.

The voucher menu is now very limited with little choice and to be frank BLAND.

The A La carte menu is little better with again a much reduced offering under the heading " Pub Classics"

The Wine list has also been dramatically reduced again with very limited choice and the prices have increased substantially.

The food we had was OK but could only be described as " Pub Grub"

The service has also deteriorated. We were offered Bread rolls towards the end of our Starters and no Water on tables.

Well it was good while it lasted and our thanks for some lovely evenings in the past but afraid we shall not be back anytime soon.

VERY VERY DISAPPOINTING

Dear roseskidderminster

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, we use all feedback as a way to better ourselves as a business. it does not make good reading to see that you did not enjoy your visit to us here at The Granary. All the team here strive to give the best possible service and the best quality of food, so it is always disappointing to hear that one of our customers have not had that.

We have now changed our A La Carte, which I'm sure a lot of people will agree, is a huge deal better and offers more of a AA rosette standard. The set menu changes on a regular occurrence so where you may of felt like the menu you were offered on the night you came was not as exciting as you envisioned, I'm sure next visit it will be more suited for you.

We have also changed the wine list in the past few weeks, where we have a lot more choice and at a lot better rate.

We have had drastic training sessions with all the front of house staff to make sure the service they provide is constant and amazing.

Again I am sorry that you feel disappointed with you visit but please do not let it put you off as it is not the usual standard of The Granary.

Hope to see you again.

Initial impressions were not great. Arrived after a long journey, went to use toilet before booking in and was greeted with an out of order sign.
Booked in and made our way over to annex. Opened the door and was greeted by the sight of buckets catching water from a leaking roof, and with plaster dropping off the ceiling one can only guess it had been like it for some time.
Room was clean enough, if a little cold, and it took a good 30 mins to work out how to turn the heating on.
Has a drink in the bar before heading off elsewhere for a wedding party. The lager was obviously 1st one out of the pipes that day and the white wine served at room temp.
We didn't bother with breakfast.

Dear wannabepikey

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, we use all feedback as a way to better ourselves as a business. It is disappointing to see that you feel like you did not have the enjoyable experience when visiting The Granary that you thought you would be having. At the time you stayed we did have an issue with our roofs and with a lot of rain and an old roof, unfortunately a leak is something that is going to be inevitable. That issue has now been sorted. We do appreciate, however, that it is not a refreshing look and is not something you expect to walk into when you arrive.

Again Thank you for taking the time to leave the review and we hope you do not feel too put off to visit again.

This was a lovely hotel with a wonderful restaurant. The service at the restaurant was particularly good. Our room was large and had a comfortable bed and well-equipped bathroom. Our meals were delicious, and we would certainly return on another occasion. Having plenty of parking is a bonus. Very nice grounds and set in lovely country side for walking.

Despite the website saying recently refurbished rooms - this is apparently and on going process. We were weaving past workmen to get to our not refurbished room and then treated to them banging and clattering until 8pm - I top of cleaning staff recounting tales of their days loudly laughing and swearing. Delightful. The bath felt unsafe as it moved when you stood in it to get a shower in either red hot or cold water and the taps didn’t really turn off.
The restaurant menu was limited but ok - the hour wait to get the food was not ok. No info was available in the room about the hotel - checking out times etc. Or the local area. The saving grace of this stay was the bar/restaurant staff who were chatty and attentive. I won’t go into detail about the wedding party who seemed to bang every door at 10 minute intervals or the dog who did not stop barking for the duration of our stay.
A courtesy mention of the workmen would have been welcome and door stays fitted whilst your refurbing!!

Dear Heather K

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, we take all comments on board and use them as a way to better ourselves as a business.

The night which you stopped was - to say the least - a little chaotic as we were very pushed for time with getting the bedrooms completely finished in time. it was something that we never in a million years envisioned to happen. From us here at the Granary we do greatly apologies for the loud banging and noise which went on throughout the night.
We have now put menus and information cards in the rooms to make sure there is no miscommunication across the hotel.
I am pleased to hear the comments about the restaurant staff who I will pass this message onto, as I know they put a lot of effort into the service they provide.

Thank you.

Dear GARRY H

Thank you for leaving your feedback, this is disappointing to hear as I know there were fish dishes which were offered to you on the night and our chef did come up with a dish which he would do for you. However as a business we understand that you wanted something which we did not have available, for that I apologies. I do hope it has not put you off coming as we have had a new menu designed by our Head Chef who has put a lot of effort in to making sure there is something available for everybody.

If you would like to discuss this further or have our new menu sent over to you please do not hesitate to get in contact - k.hughes@granary-hotel.co.uk
