Have not seen a Houlihan's in a long time. The waitress told us that this was the only one owned by the Hershey Corporation and they were very busy all year.
Plenty of food options for lunch and dinner from salads and sandwiches to steaks and pasta.
Prices are very reasonable and there is ample seating inside and outside.
Everything about our dining experience was fabulous. Drinks, appetizers, dinner and dessert. The hostess and our server were attentive and pleasant. Would definitely eat here again!
Second time eating here, this time after a flight in to visit family. The restaurant was very busy as it was Saturday noonish, and the waiter I had did not even tell me his name. I had ordered a side salad and Marguerita flatbread. Salad was just ok; flatbread came out warm and the cheese was not melted. When I paid the bill, I only got back paper money as someone had decided they needed the change more than I did. This happened once before and I let that slide. Is this a restaurant policy? If so, that must ad up nicely for someone at the end of a busy day. Between the waiters attitude and food not prepared correctly, really disappointed in this place. Or is this poor service because of a solo customer.
My sweetie and met here for our Wednesday date night. It's a little confusing to find if you're traveling east on Chocolate Ave. (US 422) as it's at the intersection of Park Avenue - but you can't turn into the restaurant from Park Avenue! If you get confused go past it and turn around. There's plenty of free parking in the Hershey Downtown Parking Garage next door.
Despite being the height of the tourist season, at 6:30pm, there was no wait. We were offered indoor or patio seating. This place is large and there were many families seated. Service was prompt, and courteous. There was no non-alcoholic beverage list on the menu which I thought was odd, and we stuck with water. I was not impressed with the quality/taste - order iced tea or soda. I got the Fish Tacos and she got the Chicken Breast sandwich. Our food arrived quickly and it had a nice presentation. The tacos (2) were small but tasty. There were two nice lime quarters which added zest to the flavor. It came with a choice of a side, but I did the standard chips and salsa. None of the items were particularly spicy, Her chicken sandwich was reported to be good, although there was some sort of inedible gristle thing she had to remove from her mouth with exquisite grace. The "Parmesan broccoli" was under cooked for her taste and didn't appear to have much in the way of Parmesan on it.
For a bit under $30 for two, we enjoyed a good meal in a friendly environment with good service. There are probably better non-chain restaurants in Hershey, but this was adequate and convenient to Hershey Park (if you're into that.)
