I have stayed at various Wyndham properties, but very disappointed with this one. The room had a very bad smell. The carpet had a big rough stain in the middle of the room. The flush was leaking, wetting the bathroom floor. Wash basin faucet had no water pressure. Internet worked on day one, but not on day 2 or 3.

Pleasant and comfortable second stay. Hospitable staff with newly renovated rooms. We stayed there little over a year ago and we chose to go there again. We go in area at least once a year. This is very easy off freeway so very convenient

Unless you like paying good money for a really bad stay. Stay away from here. I don't even think truckers stay here anymore. The only thing to fix this place is a BULLDOZER.... - Musty, Smelly rooms - Dirty bathrooms, hallways. - Wall mirrors that have dark spots where you can tell the adhesive was applied - Continental breakfast is a joke. - Out of commission pool that the cover has fallen in and the water is dark green and wildlife living in it

Under no circumstances should any individual subject themselves or others to staying at this facility.

Upon entrance to the grim and depressing building, you are first assaulted by the smell. Must, mold, and expended cigarettes hang heavy in the air. The atmosphere is so unwelcoming, in fact, that NASA would probably benefit form using this location as a simulation of the Venusian atmosphere - which is also inhospitable to human life. Imagine walking into a nicotine compost heap, in someone's basement. That's the most accurate representation I can give with words.

Once you regain your bearings, you will next find yourself nauseated by the poorly kept interior. All of the flooring, wall coverings, and even the tiny eating area are all in their original state - my best guess would be early 1980s, but since no one ever seems to clean this facility they could be as new as 2001.

The manager/owner, Falgun (as identified by his business card at the counter, and his numerous TripAdvisor responses of "I'm very sorry"), sits behind a plexiglass pane to check you in, adding to the welcoming atmosphere already established by the stunning exterior and literally breathtaking lobby.

We had a large group that booked six rooms. We were in town for an event at the Carlisle fairgrounds, and adjacent properties were all booked solid.

The rooms left much to be desired, as I'm sure you have guessed. One of our group flat out left immediately after seeing the rooms. Another of our group entered their room and were greeted by the smell of a wet dog, almost as if there had been one in the room not five minutes prior to entry.

Each room had a distinct musty, sweaty smell, which I would later learn is a sign of bedbugs. I'm writing this the day after returning, and none of us have exhibited signs of bedbugs, but I will be certain to update this if we do. I believe this smell was simply because the owners do not run air conditioning in this building. Each room has its own unit, but they are not in use when no one is staying in the room, which has promoted the growth of mold in each bathroom, and likely elsewhere in the rooms. Some were worse than others.

Upon entering my own room, our shower was equipped with a hairy bar of soap and the room included - somehow - a pile of bird poop. I'm not sure how this is possible, because the windows don't open. I can only speculate that it has something to do with the doors to this facility never being locked. There are entrances at each end and two in the middle that are open and unlocked all night, every night. Some are even propped open, to let more of that Pennsylvania summer humidity in. It would only make sense for a bird to find its way in.

Because of the size of our group and our severely limited options at this point, I requested the bird poop be cleaned and new soaps given to me. But before the staff could get to the poop, I heard knocking in the room next to mine. Loud, swift, and panicked knocking. One of my group had become trapped inside the room, the door could not be opened from the inside. The windows, again, do not open (despite being ground level). This is a major safety issue, which by the time read this, will have been communicated to the local fire marshal.

The breakfast advertised is yogurt, and Froot Loops. Milk is not provided. Apple and orange juice are available through a machine.

It gets one star because it succeeds in providing a roof and a bed, and in all fairness, I just can't fault them for that.

TL;DR This place is the equivalent of staying inside a wet ashtray. You would be better served sleeping outside if you are unable to locate lodging.

Dear Sean B,

Thank you for taking your time to give us a review. We do apologize for any inconvenience during your stay with us over the Corvette Car Show weekend.

When you guys were checking in we did offer you guys full cancellation with no penalty and no charge if you wanted to cancel the room, but was declined by 5 of the 6 rooms. The one room that decided to leave we did not charge that guest. As well, we talked with members of the group on the second day if any issues and were stated everything was OK. We even offered again no penalty if you guys wanted to cancel 2nd night stay with us, but was declined again. Even one of your group members that was in 436 was slamming and arguing with their roommate as we were getting complaints from other guests. As well when the guests checked out of the room, housekeeping notified us that there was yellow stain on bed and we did not charge you guys.

Sincerely,

Dirty room, bathroom stunk of dried urine and floor dirty. Have stayed in cheaper places that were far superior to this place. Don't like trying to talk to receptionist through glass...very impersonal. Not even worth 1 star. Wish we had turned around and walked straight back out but would have lost our money plus we had just been driving for 12 hours so we're very tired. Didn't even stay for the breakfast...
