We came for lunch based on the reviews here and were not disappointed. It was tricky to get there for people not familiar with the area, since Rt 30 is a divided highway here. We were driving west so had to make a left on Springfield Rd and another immediate left on Latches Ln. There's free parking in the surrounding lot.
On a midweek day there were plenty of tables at lunch. The three of us tried three different items, each about $10. The Monte Cristo and Panini were delicious, but my Chicken Croquets were just so-so (I'd never tried them so can't compare to others - I just won't order them again). The accompanying fries with the sandwiches were wonderful - fresh and crispy. The best part for us were the potato pancakes -with sour cream , of course! I'd go back just for those!
We shared a slice of the specialty Apple Walnut Pie 3.95$. I thought it was great but my friends thought it so-so. We also took with us some Linzer cake and Wine Cake (about $3 each) and they were perfect with coffee later at home. They have a dessert case with lots of delicious looking cakes and sweets for eating in or taking home.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and if we are nearby we will definitely come back.
