After moving from Hawaii I thought I would never have a real plate lunch again. I miss the unique food everyday until I found the Wild Pineapple! This cute little drive through has plate lunch with the classics and my favorite mac salad and potato mac that takes me right back to the island. The owners and chef are the nicest people around and the food is cooked with love. This is the real deal.

So I go to Salem a lot. N was hungry n was like where is a good place to eat. Not really was in the mood for same oh same burgers n frys from McDonalds boring! So I was driving around looking for a new place to try out. And here it was the wild pineapple Bbq. Was like ok looks good got to try it out. Decision! decisions! When u are hungry! Lol! So there was a few guys ahead of me. Just talking away. And the guy told the other guy. This place has great food. U got to try all of it when u come n visit. Very simple menu. Very friendly staff. And delicious Hawaiian food. I was here it is! Pulled pork, chicken, white rice, n pasta salad yummie n good sauces too. Even u can due drive up. Or if u want u can seat under the big oak tree n enjoy lunch. This place I would tell every one too go too if n when in Salem. So worth it.

Saw this place when going to an appointment, so thought we would give it a try. We were not disappointed. It's a small drive thru, like the many coffee drive thru shops around now. Sit in your car and order, take it home or where ever to eat.
Daily menus, they have a website if you want to check it out. On Face Book as well.
We were there on a Thursday, so we got the Big Island Plate Lunch with both Pulled Pork and Chicken, possibly the best pasta salad I've ever eaten (I'm not big into pasta, so this is a biggie if I like it), we asked for brown rice (sometimes they have it, but usually white rice. Both are good). $10, it was enough to feed both of us with some left over for a 3rd. It was so good, the next time we drove by that way, we stopped again.
They also do made to order Deli Sandwiches and Catering.
You can check out their website: : www.wildpineapple.net
I liked this Hawaiian food ever so much better than the other place in town. It is less commercial and totally authentic.
Hours are 8am-2pm Monday thru Wednesday, 11am-2pm Thursday and Friday, closed Saturday and Sunday. When the food is gone, it's gone, so go early if you can. But not before I get there please.

The menu is limited and varies daily.

The food is always good and very reasonably priced. If you like Hawaiian food, you have but two choices in our little backwater berg. Wild Pineapple is the only good one.

I especially like the Shoyu Chicken and Kalua Pulled Pork. And, if your lucky enough to catch them on a day when Cliff makes 'em, his pork Ribs are really something special.

Daily menus are often, but not always, posted on the W.P. Facebook page.

Note: Picnic tables are available when the weather is cooperating.
