We dined at Jake’s to celebrate a special event with our daughter and son-in-law, so four of us all together. We had a reservation and were seated within 5 minutes upon arrival in a nice booth. Artwork and antique oyster plates decorated the dark wood walls. Appetizer: family enjoyed the Chilled Seafood Platter, regular size and I had a mixed green salad with their ranch dressing. All served fresh. Dtr had the Jake’s Traditional Bouillabaisse : Mussels, Clams, Scallops, Prawns, Salmon, and Crab $41.50. SIL had Grilled Washington Steelhead Grilled with Sautéed Oregon Bay Shrimp and Fresh Basil Butter $ 31.50. Hubby had Cedar Plank Pacific Salmon Vancouver, BC Oven Roasted on a Cedar Plank with Beurre Rouge Sauce $31.50. I had Chicken Linguine with Sundried Tomatoes and Spinach $ 21.50, which had ample tender chicken and sundried tomatoes, which is the part I like the best. Everyone reported excellent foods. The presentation was also excellent – they looked like works of art. Dtr & SIL shared The Chocolate Bag, filled with white chocolate mousse, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, topped with fresh whipped cream and raspberry coulis. Hubby and I had Upside Down Walnut Apple Pie, baked with a crisp walnut topping and French vanilla ice cream. It was an expensive meal but we knew that going into it; however the quality of the food and service was worthy of the price. The best of the best! Whatever you want is usually on the menu. A classic, long time classy experience in Portland where you will have a fabulous dinner with professional, knowledgeable wait staff and leave feeling like you experienced the best of old time Portland. Fabulous in every way! Their Oysters Rockafeller is one of my favorites but you can't go wrong with anything you order.

We came for pre dinner drinks only since we had already made reservation elsewhere. Bartender was attentive and allowed us to review menu and came back when he saw we were ready to order 2x whiskey sour and 1x Moscow mule. Lime was pressed in front of us and the drink mixes were superb. Very professional service. Also prices were below same drinks prices in other local Portland places. Great decor - especially the Nixon photos.
