“Nice area to stay in Portland”
Reviewed 24 October 2016 for a stay in October 2016

I enjoyed my stay in the non hipster pad! The area was awesome with so many shops and restaurants within such close walking distance. Loved the little wine bar across the street! Fred was a pleasure to work with and the accommodations were great!

“Great location”
Reviewed 20 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Only about 100 feet from NW 23rd. Dozens of shop, restaurants, and breweries. If you have a car pay the extra $10.00 per night for parking. The flat is very cozy.

We drove from Seattle and paid the extra $10 to park the rental car in the driveway. Make sure you dont forget to lock the car doors! We must have left a door open..when we stepped outside to head out for the morning all the doors of the car were wide open and the car was ransacked; even though we parked right next to the apartment door. A strange person was walking up and down the driveway with a cat on their shoulder and didn't acknowledge us, just walked into the back yard. Weird. The basement apartment was comfortable. Cement floors have lots of rugs down. We found the bed and pillows to be comfortable, but we like soft beds. It was a little chilly and no controls for heat. We used the space heater and added a blanket to the bed. The kitchen is well equiped. Great location for shopping and some good dining. Close to public transportation. The owner is quick to repond.

I am really surprised to hear about the car sacking. Please send me details as a police report should be filed and my neighbors - who share the parking need to know. We are very proactive on crime in the neighborhood and I want to do what is necessary to make sure this never happens again - it is the first I know of a car being broken into on our driveway.

“Outstanding experience in Alphabet district in NW Portland”
Reviewed 5 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

My wife and I stayed for 4 beautiful days in Portland for my first time visit to Portland. The location was outstanding. Just out the door was 24th corridor with all the boutique shops and restaurants which spent a lot of time perusing. You are in a basement apartment but I was very comfortable. Great wifi and cable TV. Initially there was a potential parking issue but Fred resolved that with a parking permit and I was able to find unlimited street parking in the 4 hour areas just two blocks from the apartment. With the permit in the window, one can park for unlimited time. It is a very safe area to park and walk. You are very close to the International and Japanese rose gardens. Also one can easily hop on the streetcar to get to Pearl district and downtown. All in all, a very wonderful time and did I mention that it never rained for the 4 days :)

“Great Place in a Great Location!!”

We stayed here four nights and loved it. The location is PERFECT, just a quick walk to a streetcar line that takes you directly downtown and links to all other areas of Portland ($5 ride all trans systems all day...bargain!). Great neighborhood with lots of shopping and REALLY good restaurants all within a couple of blocks. The apartment has everything you need, we stayed in the basement apartment (ArtFulLife) and, as the name suggests, it was full of fabulous artwork. Loved the mod/eclectic decor. Bed was very comfortable with comfy pillows and bedding (on the top of my list when away from home). Kitchen was also well-equipped...although there were just too many great places to eat close by to even think about cooking (Trader Joe's just a few blocks away too). The owner was very responsive, helpful and easy to deal with....I HIGHLY recommend this place. Thanks Fred!
