Get a membership if you live here because if you have kids you will find yourself here often. The Zoo lights is a tradition. Great exhibits

“Fun and educational”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 March 2012

We recently took our daughter for the first time. Definitely recommend it! We had so much fun seeing all of the animals and riding the train around the park. During off season you don't get to do the full train tour, just the short one, but with an antsy five year old, that was plenty.

Bring your mittens if going in the winter but be sure not to miss this. There are some amazing exhibits, plants and animals. Good family fun :)

“Oregon Zoo”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 February 2012

The Oregon Zoo (formerly Portland Zoo) is always striving to improve, expand and make the most of the exhibits. I was very sad to see the Alaskan Tundra exhibit removed but the Pacific Northwest section is very nice indeed. Not just for the kids--bring your lunch, wear comfy shoes and the ride on the train is worth the bit extra at the admission gate.

“Always improving, always interesting”

We love to visit the zoo about once or twice a year - and we're a middle aged couple. It's educational, entertaining and the animals never fail to provide a "wow - look at that" moment. There are usually new exhibits or re-done areas and the zoo is clean, large and easy to navigate. There are places to snack, rest, and get a drink plus the admission is reasonable. Take the kids and grandkids for an experience that is truly fun and family friendly any time of year.
