Dropped in for a couple beers and dinner after a long drive. Online research showed it to be a place for good beer and good food. Sunday evening without reservations and the joint was jumping. Hostess explained there would be at !east half hour wait or sit at the bar which we did. Struck up a conversation with a couple who were local as we enjoyed an excellent double IPA. Between them and the bartender we were filled in on the local vibe and what to eat. Ordered the pickled vegi plate for a starter and loved it. My wife had a garbanzo bean salad and considered it perfect for a hot evening meal. I got the calamari tacos expecting a coup!e small street tacos. Nope these were massive filled with a perfect fried seafood with a great sauce. I of course needed another beer to finish.
If in town to visit this place, if you're local you be lucky to have this close by.

Went to this place with our two oldest daughters, they told us we had to order the cheese curds as they were homemade, and they were yummy. We also had sandwiches and what appeared to be homemade fries.

The Prodigal Son has great bohemian atmosphere. Old time building refurbished into the now bohemian look. Plenty of seating inside and on the sidewalk. They have great fish and chips as well as salads.

We were traveling through Pendleton and stopped at the Prodigal Son for dinner. After a bit of tasting we opted for the Trendy Hazy IPA and A Beer Named Sue - both excellent. The food is decent pub food. The service was great - our waiter was friendly and attentive. Would go back if we are ever in the neighborhood again.

I have tried many of Prodigal's beers and like the Bruce Lee Porter most. A Beer Named Sue is a good beer as well if one is looking for a lighter brew. When I was there last, I had my favorite hamburger, The Pit Boss. It's a beef patty with Hill's Meat bacon, jalapenos and an onion ring on it. It's served with either in house made potato chips or fresh cut fries. One of the best burgers in town.
