The beach was nice and good view of the rock, but the trails were all sandy paths. It was fine for a while, but after a few miles on sand just walking through woodsy trails with nothing spectacular to look at we were done. We ended up doing the whole 5 miles (missed a turn), and walked most of the last mile on the beach, which was fine and had a view and breeze, but would not repeat this hike. To park and just hang on the beach the park is fine. If you do the hike, be sure to pick up a complimentary map. It is very well marked along the way.

We found this beach by accident. It has a nice parking lot with a easy hike up to the top of the sand dunes and then down the other side to the beach. There are bathrooms at the parking lot area. The beach was clean and not as filled with people as the Cape Kiwanda beach. You have a great view of the Haystack Rock at Cape Kiwanda. A really nice little area.

As a local, this is our family favorite. Started coming here about a year ago when we were new to the area and it's never crowded. Love bringing our dogs here for a run on the beach or a hike along the trails. Just be aware that there is a horse rental facility down the road so watch your step!

Great beach access from the free parking lot. One must only walk over a medium high sand dune and there it is - a beach vista with a long, wide and exceptionally clean beach. The view stretches from the Pelican Pub area to the north to the south for several miles. This is a great walking beach with lot of shells and other fun things to find on the beach. Many people with dogs, some people on horse back in an organized group, a few kite fliers and many people,(not as crowded as many beach areas), just walking and enjoying the sights. Whether here for only a few hours or for all day, it is a wonderful place on the coast to visit.

This is our second trip to this park. The first being 9 years ago. You climb over some sand dunes and have a wonderful uncrowded beach area .The climb over the dunes could be strenous for some . We found several sand dollars on the beach.
