Nice casual eating. In North Bend nice food. Quite and absorbing. The supple mixtures of China and India and home culture makes Thai food excellant.

I am a frequent traveler to this eatery. I've yet to try a dish that wasn't outstanding. There Thai street food (mostly noodles) are all good but my favorite is the pad kee mow (Drunken Noodles). When i am not in the mood for noodles, their curries are excellent. My favorite is the Penang curry but their massaman is one of the best i have eaten anywhere, including Thailand.

My only negative is the service which can be a little erratic. The owner frequently is also the server and the kitchen can get behind. It is very annoying when one dish is served at a table with three or four diners and the others just sit and wait. By the time everyone gets served the first dish out is cooling off, maybe substantially. This is not unusual in lower end restaurants in Thailand but it is a bit disconcerting here.

PS They almost always have fresh mangoes and sticky rice for desert!

Pumpkin Curry, Tom Khah soup, Pad See Ew, Pad Thai and Sparkling Prawns (with asparagus) are some of my favorites at this out-of-the way treasure in North Bend. As others have mentioned - service is spotty, the waitresses are often new and inexperienced. Sometimes the food comes right away and at other times, it's a half-hour wait. The owner can be abrupt with her staff and patrons; it appears more cultural than intended slight. Regardless of the above, the food always tastes yummy and interesting. For Thai Food in the North Bend/Coos Bay area, I heartily recommend Gourmet Thai.

This is actually BPJ's Thai Gourmet, according to their menu, and they are at 1802 Virginia Avenue in North Bend. Nice decor and comfortable atmosphere. This is the second time we have eaten here; both times we were impressed with the quality of the food. This time we split two dishes--Yum grilled beef salad and Pad Thai. The total bill before tip and including a glass of Thai iced tea and a glass of wine was $32.
