“Nice memorial in a good location”

David Dewett Veterans Memorial

Good place for a convenient stop along 101. Nice setting. I wouldn't drive out of the way to visit this alone, but if you're coming into the area it's a nice place to stop and pay your respects.

Love reading the Veterans Memorial quotes and then sit and enjoy the sunset. Great place for a quick stop. :)

Even if you just pull in for a snack or to make a phone call (as I was this time), this lovely memorial is a pleasant place to stop. I appreciate the sentiments and the view and try to always leave a few dollars in the contribution box.

Local group did a great job putting together. It really services as a reminder and honors or Vet's.

A few words of caution, when an event is held here be careful accessing the leaving the parking area, Hwy 101 traffic will not see ya when you stopped in the lane waiting to turn or pulling out! Also, the parking is limited and cars end up parking on the Hwy 101 shoulders. Watch out to walkers crossing the Hwy!

The memorial pull out is located right by the roadside on highway 101 by the river inlet and is a wonderful tribute to the Vets. Reading the inscriptions on the granite blocks and tributes on the paving blocks was quite moving. In the background you have a nice view of the McCullough memorial bridge crossing into North Bend . It's really worth a short amount of your time to stop and reflect on those that laid down their lives. One of the quotes " Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends"
